Part One (through chapter 4).

(view spoiler)[I liked the prologue, it was nice to see how Wax met Lessie.

They've got a pretty interesting crime on their hands, the auction ending in a massacre. If it is to do with Wax's uncle, the man is obviously a criminal genius. He's getting away with crazy stuff!

I liked the scene where Marasi was held hostage and instead of panicking etc she just lifted her gun and shot him in the head! Go on girl! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I also liked the Marasi scene. Good to see her just act instead of letting herself be afraid. Not that she didn't before, she's just gotten better at it now.

Wayne visiting the daughter of the man he killed is so sad. I wonder if that family will come into the story later at all or if it's more a way to build Wayne. Curious about that.

And I like that Steris is trying to plan for a disaster at their wedding. She's great. (hide spoiler)]

I'm 22% done, judging by C.P.'s comment that's through chapter 5. I'm listen to the audiobook, but audible.de is not very helpful with it's chapters... It tells me, I'm currently listening to chapter 45 of 207... Great!
So if you like to do me a favour and if it's not too much trouble, you could add the % additional to the chapter number? That would be awesome!

Steris wedding planning is indeed great, I really like the humor with Wax enemy, who threaten him to eat his toes and the banter between Wayne and Steris.

I think Wax (and Siobhan ;) ) is right and the massacre was part of Was's uncles plan. Can't wait to see, what he's up to!

I haven't thought about the scene, where Wayne visit the daughter of the man he killed, but I like the idea, that she will play a role later on. (hide spoiler)]

I definitely think it gives another dimension to Wayne's character seeing him vulnerable like that. Other people might avoid what they'd done, but he faces it head on every year. Quite brave.

I'm really liking the kandra being in this! Milan! I really loved them in the original trilogy. And it looks like Ten-Soon will likely make an appearance.

C.P, I was just thinking about (view spoiler)[how much Wayne dislikes Steris. He was so mean to her outside the party! He finds her repulsive?! Bit harsh. Not sure how that's better than hate!

I liked Steris trying so hard with Wax inside the party before everything kicked off. She prepared witty lines to use, bless her! I hope they come to genuinely feel for each other.

It's cool having kandra around again! I'd forgotten how hard it is to figure out who they are. And the hope that it's not someone you love because that means their character is dead!! (hide spoiler)]

I'm really enjoying this. Even more than the first time I think. It's fun but also has a lot of serious stuff going on.

I do feel kind of bad for Marasi, always having to feel like the odd one out. She's not really appreciated by her family and now she's being used more to get close to Wax than anything else.

Wayne is wonderful! And I'm really enjoying Milan. Loved when she was talking about how the person tasted. (hide spoiler)]

In the middle of chapter 23 (about 92%), oh my!! (view spoiler)[Bleeder is wearing Lessie! That is definitely gonna f*ck with Wax! :S
I am enjoying this story sooo much! So many twists and turns. We should have known Bleeder had the Governor all along!! I love how Wayne figured it out because the accent was slightly off. I love language too xD
It's great having TenSoon in the story, love that's still living as a wolfhound! :D and MeLaan is great too!
Having the kandra and Harmony in this story is making it feel more like original Mistborn. (hide spoiler)]

These books are such fun, easy reads! I flew through this one considering I was reading a few things.

I can't believe the kandra was Lessie the whole time! Poor Wax. That's gonna be pretty tough to deal with. Lovely moment at the end when he finally lets his emotions out to Steris.

The idea of another thing as powerful as Harmony is scary, can't wait for the next book! (hide spoiler)]

I've ben enjoying my re-read... but holy crap... Chapter 15 spells out some of the Secret Histories... (view spoiler)[ The Survivor transcended death, he survived even being killed... adopting the mantle of the Ascendant during the time of Preservation's death and Vin's ascension... (hide spoiler)]

I didn't take this very seriously on my first read, I don't think...

I'm 72% done and really enjoy this book :) I remember someone (Iain?) said that Book 2 & 3 are darker? Right now I don't feel that way... (And that's presumable the moment I jinxed it and everything went down in the next couple of chapters :D)

(view spoiler)[ I think I love Wayne even more in this book, especially his scenes with Milan (Is she spelled that way the books? She's MeLaan from the first Mistborn Trilogy, isn't she? TenSoon's protege with the bones made of wood?) and how he asked the women where she bought her pumps. It's true that he was rude to Steris and I wished he wasn't, but for me it doesn't seem like he meant to hurt her. It's more like the love/hate-relationship younger siblings often have? I can't tell how often I fought with my brother and I think we drove my parents crazy, but deep down he was important to me, even if I would have never admit it. (We're past this now, of course and I'm glad I've got such a great brother 😉).

I'm really excited that the Kandras have their comeback :) As Siobhan said, I like that one is always wondering if the person couldn't be a Kandra instead!

And I feel a little bad for Marasi too, she deserved much more appreciation... (hide spoiler)]

I think it's hard to beat the dreariness of Ruin in the first trilogy, but there are some darker elements in here... I think the biggest ones in this one come at the end... (view spoiler)[with the revelation that Lessee was always a Kandra sent to manipulate him... (hide spoiler)]

I see some real parallels to the first book in here... just that Wax is on the receiving end of the it, whereas Kelsier was the instigator...

I agree he isn't trying to hurt Steris really... and Steris took it well... she's so analytical/practical about everything... Sanderson has confirmed she's close to Asperger's on the spectrum...

I'm a real fan of Steris, and you start to see their relationship developing here... (hide spoiler)]

I agree, Anni! (view spoiler)[ I was hoping that Wayne loved Steris in an antagonising brotherly way deep down, so I'm glad you read it this way.

I love Wayne more this book too. I just find him so clever and funny!

And yes, Marasi definitely deserves more recognition of her skills and the things she's achieved on her own merit. I don't like people just using her as a connection to Wax or to control him. :/ (hide spoiler)]

And I'm done :) This one was great! I think the change of perspective in terms of the uprisings were well done. I like the discussion what Wax would have done to Vin and the others would he have be present at their revolt.

(view spoiler)[ Actually there was a point I was wondering if Bleeder could be the Governor, but then I forgot about it again. There was a short moment when Wayne realised who Bleeder was (was it mentioned that it was die Governor's voice he heared? Than I missed it... I thought there was only said that he heared the wrong accent and knew who it is), when I was scared it could be Steris... Phew, I'm glad it wasn't her!

Clever Wax, shooting a spike at Bleeder! I thought he had asked the weapon women, I've forgotten her name, to hide the syringe inside the bullet.

I liked the twist with Lessie, even if that means that Wax had to kill her again, poor Wax :( But at least he opens up to Steris in the end, I really liked that.

Oh and I forgot: TenSoon! Yeah! It was great to see him again ;) I also liked that Hoid shortly appeared as coachman, not that we 'saw' him himself, sadly 😅 (hide spoiler)]

Finished this and really liked this reread. It just makes me want the final book even more. Excited to see how The Bands of Mourning is on reread.

Finally got around to starting this one today! I'm 50 pages in so far.
