Hey, hey, party people! I'm getting a little bit of a jump on this, because... well... I am. *giggle*

February 2018 ~ Anna's pick ~ Opposites Attract Love and/or Robin's pick ~ Books With a Pink Cover

The only *rule* for this challenge is that you have to pick a book from your TBR (to be read) file. We want to decrease the size of our back lists, hence the challenge!

message 2: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments I’m in! Still have to read my pick for me for January - Arsen....

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I havent finished last months, but ever hopeful.

Anna=No Limits by Ellie Marney. I actually bought this at the end of last year which, I guess, now counts as my tbr. Sigh.

Robin= Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle

message 4: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Could I get clarification on "opposites attract"?

message 5: by Nay (last edited Jan 21, 2018 01:51PM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Maybe enemies to lovers?

Good girl loves bad boy?

Leslie! A bully book. *pom poms shaking* Read Punk 57 or Corrupt! Maybe not Corrupt, that one is pretty hard core... but Punk 57 is one of my favorites. it's awesome. And I think Tessa would agree with me, definitely an opposites attract....

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

I took it to mean opposite sides of the track.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Just any opoosites is fun. I like this one.
Robin's is nice because it is easy to find and pink is pretty.

Opposites is fun, you could do May/December... it could be interpreted many different ways, I am going to have to think on this one a lot...

message 11: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Alright, pink book (which I'm surprised I had any) Art & Soul by Brittainy C. Cherry

Opposites Attract (You all realize how many were on those lists that I've read? lol ) : Simply Irresistible (Chinooks Hockey Team, #1) by Rachel Gibson

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments I’m in, have to work it out.

Tessa | 1761 comments Leslie wrote: "Pink might be easier to pick....got to put more thought into this one. 🤔"

My biggest most of my pink books were from Meg Cabot and read. All those Princess books. :)

message 16: by Kooloo (new)

Kooloo | 596 comments I’m going try to find one in my lib that combines both lol

message 17: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I'm in! I think i want to find one with a pink cover

message 18: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Just realized that I never said that I'm in, so I'm in!

No clue about the book but will definitely be enemies to lovers, something with lots of wonderful friction!

message 19: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I was going with a pink book but Robin clarified for me that In Harmony In Harmony by Emma Scott is an "opposites" book, so I am going with that. It doesnt come out for few weeks, but that is ok...I shelved it way back in August, so it counts baby!!!

message 30: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments I loved it! From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata 5* for me - I love all her books. I liked Dear Aaron too.

message 31: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Started The Pebble Jar by H.A. Robinson and it truly is amazing...and it's sort of a pink cover, right???

message 32: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Lisa wrote: "Started The Pebble Jar by H.A. Robinson and it truly is amazing...and it's sort of a pink cover, right???"

Sure! The pink book I almost picked was the same type of pink.

I am only about 37%. Nothing has put me in the corner crying yet...but I sense something heart ripping in my near future. The writing style is phenomenal!!!

message 36: by Kooloo (new)

Kooloo | 596 comments yay that does sound promising>>> I put it on my P4M

message 37: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I finished From Lukov with Love--3 stars

message 38: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments That's a shocker Renee. People seem to be loving it. But I don't always like the slow burn so......

message 39: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I don't mind the slow burn, but for me, it dragged too much. Probably just part of my pickiness, but I thought it could have been cut down at least 100 pages and still been a very effective slow burn. And I didn't connect with the hero until very late in the book. He felt like a 2-D, cutout character to me until that time, which is a big part of why the story wasn't exciting to me. I loved the last 10%, but that just wasn't enough to make up for the rest.

But I'm definitely in the minority--Paula loved it. So don't let my hangups keep anyone from reading it.

On the flip side, there are certain types of methodically laid out books that bore some people to tears that I find captivating, so you just never know.

message 40: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments That's good to know Nay, as when someone says the book is good I keep buying and buying, hence my pick for me is at 36 and growing. Insane really. Then I forget about the book and buy another. 😬😬

It's dragging for me too. I've bailed at (I think?) 28%. Might gbl. I'm not officially declaring dnf yet. But, too many other lovely shinies out there with my name on them.

message 42: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I'm reading Wait For It by Mariana Zapata right now.... pink words in the cover so that counts right? Loving it so far!!!!!!

message 43: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
I gotta get back to One True Loves, which is my PFM and my February TBR challenge, but, I've been SUPER busy. I was proofing, and then I've got 2 ARC's and then I'm proofing again later this month, so yeah, suddenly the shortest month of the year is the busiest, LOL!

message 44: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Yes, Grey....that was a good one. *gently nudges Grey towards book*

message 45: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I just started my "opposites attract" book In Harmony In Harmony by Emma Scott

Can't wait to get into it as I dont really know what its about.

message 46: by Leslie (last edited Feb 28, 2018 04:54AM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I finished In Harmony In Harmony by Emma Scott !

I loved it! 4.5 ****

UPDATED RATING: Changed to 5*****

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Leslie wrote: "I finished In Harmony In Harmony by Emma Scott!

Yay Leslie...I loved it too!

message 48: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Finished Art and Soul. 4.5 stars and ugh, the stupid book had me in tears! Truly, a beautiful story, but gah, why do these books have to make me cry?

FYI, that cover... DOESN'T MATCH. They look late 20s early thirties and they are teens in high school. Just... yeah.

message 49: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Hey, I just realised I *almost* did the Feb challenge. Woohoo! I read The Difference Between Us The Difference Between Us (Opposites Attract, #2) by Rachel Higginson right at the end of January. Does that count???? I liked it - 3.5 stars (which is pretty decent for me). Speaking of covers not matching, though..... yeah, no. The cover model on this one looks NOTHING like what I imagine Ezra to be. He's too young, for starters......

message 50: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Ooooh Tessa, I loved that book too. Really enjoyed it. I 5 starred it.
