Haha I love the make babies comment! I totally agree with you! I’m totally team Liam. I like what they did with (view spoiler)[ Cora and the queen. I’m actually glad that Cora was the Sorceress and not the queen. It made it more interesting and it makes sense. I mean if you’re going to outlive everyone for hundreds of years then be someone not noticeable but in a place of power. Very smart on Cora’s part. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished Ch.3 (view spoiler)[ it is slow and steady but I am not bored, yet! lol I like the concept of bleeding time..i think that is so neat and insane all at the same time!!

Up to chapter 16!!! Slow and steady but I am still interested in seeing how this ends!! Jules is a fool for like NOT listening to ANYTHING her dad warned her against!!

So i just finished the book and idk...i am not that much of a fan as other readers. And maybe the 2nd book will be better, but as this moment I don't know if i want to suffer through it. This book was a slow build up and when it finally did get "good," even that was disappointing.

jules was super annoying...it was like she was seeking trouble! You Dad tells you not to go to Everless, what do you do, go to ever less. Your Dad tells you to stay away from the Queen, what do you do, try out to be her handmaiden! Like WHAT is your deal!! Lol

I thought the concept of blood-iron and time was really neat and different. At first I was confused by the concept but the author did a good job of explaining it and also giving a history of the Sorceress and the Alchemist.

All in all though, Unfortunately this book did NOT live up to the 4and 5 star reviews it got.

(view spoiler)[ In the beginning I was highly annoyed reading the first few chapters of this book, it took me back to my "hunger games" days. Another girl roaming through the forest when she shouldn't be days... whew. This isn't that but it did remind me of it. I understand Jules motivation I mean what girl wouldn't do everything she could to try and save her sick dad. I get that. Jules is actually a good character it just seemed like the beginning was slow for me. The first few chapters of And I Darken where a bit slow for me as well but I just couldn't bring my self to connect to Jules like I did with Lada. She's bullheaded and never listens her father warns her not to do things and she follows the RDJ method

Just started. It feels sort of Hunger Games-y to me with a mix of Red Queen and some of the basis of a Justin Timberlake movie called In Time.

Not sure if I'm just misreading stuff but in Chapter 5 (view spoiler)[ a lady is telling the tale of the Alchemist and Sorceress. "But the Alchemist-who lived at this estate, like your friend said-grew jealous and imprisoned them here.." And I had thought the "them" was in reference to the Alchemist and Sorceress...but that wouldn't make sense because the Alchemist is the subject of the sentence. Then the character goes on to say "It was deep in his forest estate that the Sorceress...and the Alchemist found a way to bind blood to iron, so that the lord could steal time..." I just feel like that first sentence should have been talking about the lord, not the Alchemist, because it sounds like the Alchemist and Sorceress were imprisoned and you can't very well imprison yourself.
