I mean same thread as Novice, sorry. I'm 20% into my current read, so should be finished in around 2-3 hours, and then I'll get started on Crazy House by James Patterson, which also shouldn't take me long. Then to get to The Novice. Am planning on taking a nap at some point today.

Ivan is really creepy and I wish he would get stabbed in the eye. I can't believe Tam got his tongue cut out! So sad. I get a weird vibe from them when they're all together. And Roan still bothers me--there's just something off about him. Up to chapter 6 (view spoiler)[ I like it so far. The whole time and blood thing is interesting. It’s intriguing to see what it would be like if we paid our currency with time. I liked the story about the Sorceress and the Alchemist too. I hope we learn more about that. The only thing I don’t like is the Jules and Roan thing. Jules clearly has feelings for Roan but honestly I don’t trust him. He seems a little to playful for someone that’s engaged to a future queen. (hide spoiler)]

Jules is reminiscing too much about the past instead of focusing on finding out who Roan is now. And didn’t get father say to stay away from the queen? But now she’s going to audition as her maid? Finished! (view spoiler)[ Oh wow! I’m impressed. That was a really fun read! I was impressed that we got lots of explanation on the whole blood iron and time thing. From the beginning, the whole concept of using time as a currency was interesting. But we got so much more than that! We got a whole back story and history of the Alchemist and the Sorceress. Jules was an okay character. I was annoyed at how she couldn’t trust Liam which was also understandable considering the trauma she had in the past with him but she was 10 years older now. Fine. You can’t bring yourself to trust him. At least investigate him and no. Failing to stalk him and getting caught does not count. That’s the one thing that annoyed me about this book. Jules made stupid decisions and got super lucky a lot! Personality wise, she wasn’t that bad. Not whiny which was a plus and determined so I admired that. I just wished she was more open minded. It would have saved her a lot of trouble. Anyway, as for romance. I was rooting team Liam from the beginning. (hide spoiler)]

I don’t see a lot of people liking him but what do I know, I always go for the bad boys more. But yeah. He was just too perfect and flirty! While he had a fiancé! It was just wrong!
