Trying to remember book title

I’m trying to remember a title of a book. She is a book dealer and the hero owns a dojo and wants to go with her when she takes a rare book to the buyer. He can walk through doors without the bell ringing and the Dobermans obey his command. He gets drugged in a scene and he gets amorous instead of drunk and belligerents. It’s an older tittle. The escape a fire in the end. It takes place on west coast. The villain ran a cult and was presumed dead. There is microfilm in the book the villain wants. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
