Turtles All the Way Down by John Green has been sitting on my shelf ever since it came out and I meant to read it right away. But somehow I didn't. Anyway, the book is fantastic! I love John Green novels in general, but again I am amazed by how much I love this book, despite the surprising lack of turtles. He managed to put into words what intrusive thoughts feel like in a way I've never read before. I highly recommend this book!

I have a number of books that I Meant to Read in 2017 But Didn't, so I'll just count the first of these that I read: White Night by Jim Butcher. :-)I finished this book on January 7th. It was wonderful. :-)
I just finished The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock. I’d actually checked it out from the library in mid December and intended to read it over winter break, but that didn’t go so well. I very much enjoyed it. Set in Alaska, it’s a tangled tale of family and finding yourself. The only thing was that there were so many characters and so much going on that it wasn’t hard to get confused.
I finally got around to the Firebird Series by Claudia Grey. The first book is called A Thousand Pieces of You and deals with interdimensional travel (not time travel, just travelling to our parallel dimensions). As a scientist I really loved the book - Grey mentions scientific principles without messing them up, which is nice + the story makes sense and is well thought through (which is hard if you have infinite dimensions to deal with).Read it if you
- like weird scientific fiction (similar to The Martian)
- like sweet budding romances stories (similar to These Broken Stars)
Also: check out this glorious cover:

Also, I love this challenge! <3
