What is a Buddy Read, exactly? A Buddy Read is when you and someone else read a book at the same time, and discuss it together. You can set certain sections to read to or not, it is completely up to you.
Signing Up for a Buddy Read: If you would like to sign-up for a Buddy Read, please click this to be taken to our sign-up page.
Starting Your Thread: Once you and someone else has decided which book you will Buddy Read together, make a thread underneath the "Active Buddy Reads" folder. Your thread should you be titled as follows:
"Name 1 and Name 2: Title of Book Buddy Reading" with capitalization.
If you have any questions about creating a thread, or are having trouble doing so, please let me know and I will do my best to assist you as soon as I can.
Creating Your Post: Your post should look something like this -
Me and annikah (in the link, insert a link to the other persons' account - if you don't know how to do this, I have included how at the end of this) will be Buddy Reading The Selection (insert a link to the book you are reading - if you don't know how to do this, I have included how at the end of this) by Kiera Cass (insert a link to the author - if you don't know how to do this, I have included how at the end of this).
Your post DOES NOT have to follow this exact lines, but it should be something pretty similar. It at least needs to contain the information mentioned.
DO NOT list your thread as important so it will be marked first - what I have marked as important needs to stay at the top. Your thread will be deleted and you will be removed from doing Buddy Reads through our group if you do it.
Posting to Your Thread: You and your partner should be using the thread to talk about your book on a regular basis - don't let your thread just sit there!
If you are going to post spoilers in your discussion thread, MARK THEM! Other people can and most likely will be looking at your thread. Please don't go spoiling anything for them. I will be looking at threads and any unmarked spoilers will result in that comment being deleted.
Finished Reading: Once you and your partner are done Buddy Reading said book, you will move your thread to the "Archived Buddy Read Threads" folder. Once you move it, close your thread for new comments. If you do not know how to move a topic to another folder and/or close a topic for new comments, I have included how at the end of this.

How-To...
All of the how-tos mentioned can be found below. You DO NOT have to read unless you need to know how to do something.
1.) Link to Someone Else's Account
Step 1 - Go to where it says "(some html is ok)" in the top right corner of the post text box.
Step 2 - Copy & paste what is to the right of the word "link:"
Step 3 - Change where it says "my link text" to that persons' name
Step 4 - Change the "http://www.goodreads.com" to a link to their account. You can get the link by going to their account and copy & pasting the URL.
2.) Adding A Book
Step 1 - Go to where it says "add book/author" in the top right corner of the post text box.
Step 2 - Make sure the "Book" tab is selected (it should be when you first click on it, unless you changed it yourself)
Step 3 - Type the name of the book; sometimes you need to type the author, too, for it to come up.
Step 4 - Select the bubble at the bottom to either add a link to the book or a picture of the cover. To add a link, select the "link" bubble, and to add a picture of the cover, select the "cover" bubble.
Here is what each of them look like:

Here is what each of them look like:
Author's Goodreads Page Link: Kiera Cass
Author's Goodreads Page Photo:

Step 1 - Write your spoiler out
Step 2 - In front of it, write "[spoiler]" but change the brackets to either "<" or ">" depending on which side it is.
