No worries! It fits in elsewhere but worth a shot haha. I'll check the colour shelves we have and see if there's any on there I could pick up in case!
I'm getting ready for this challenge!!! I have 6 books that I would like to read in February. 1. "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson
2. "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom
3. "Dorothy Must Die" by Danielle Paige
4. "The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige
5. "Yellow Brick War" by Danielle Paige
6. "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah
I'm trying to push myself a little with reading. I can normally read 3 to 4 books a month so this is a personal goal for me to try and achieve. I can't wait to start!

Awesome! Looks like a good list. Let me know how you like Dorothy Must Die once you've finished it! I started it once but never got to finish it (it was due back at the library, and I haven't gotten around to picking it up again yet, though I still plan to at some point).
I will let you know how it goes! I'm excited to start that series. I have the first 3 that I would like to finish. It sounds like a good series!!

Nice! I loved The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! Really wanna read the rest of the series :)
I'm planning on reading some kinda cheesey but fun YA:
The First 15 Lives of Harry August - Claire North
Daughter of Smoke and Bone - Laini Taylor
Topaz Reign - Teresa Richards (really cute Princess and the Pea retelling!)
Hunted - Meagan Spooner
I read Dorothy Must Die as well, it wasn't really my thing, but a lot of people really loved it!For February, I hope to read 10 books (a lot of them are pretty short), I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it because my workload this semester is really heavy, but we'll see.
Release, Schuyler's Monster, Future Home of the Living God, The Twenty One Balloons, Mrs. Dalloway, A Room of One’s Own, Lost Boy, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The Great Divorce, and Words in Deep Blue
You are all so prepared! I love it. So far I only have two books planned for February . . . Evernight by Claudia Gray (to cover our 7 Red) and Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. After that, I figure I'll just see what cards from our hands need filled and choose from there.I usually read about 2 books a month, but can add in another book or two because I listen to audiobooks during my commute as well. Though during last year's UNO, I found the "challenge" aspect to be very motivating and ended up doing more... so my goal will be 6-8 from combined reading/listening to audiobooks.
I have officially started my first book
and am hoping to read about 20-25 books in Feb. I managed 20 in January and that was even being crazy busy so hoping feb will be a better reading month :-)I have a lot of series I am slowly catching up on and want to continue on with in feb. I especially want to catch up on the psy-changeling and Guild hunter series by Nalini Singh because i am meeting her in April. can't wait! Also want to catch up on the Mercy Thompson series, book 9 of the kate Daniels series and continue on with the Elder races series
The challenge has officially begun!!Just a few notes as we start:
1. As a reminder, when you have finished with a book, please post a comment here in this thread with the following information
Book Title: (please link to book if you can)
Author:
Dates Read:
Cards it Counts For/Ways it Fits:
Cover Color: (if it fits the requirements for a colored card)
Please make sure you include all the ways in which the book can fit! Remember, the letters we use to fit cards are Z,O,T,H,F,I,S,V,E,N,K,P -- and there are other ways to fit them as well, which can be found here.
2. Make sure each book you use for this challenge is marked as Read on your UNO shelf with the date read set -- that is the only way we can count it! Remember, only books started after this challenge began (about four hours prior to this post) will count.
3. Please check in to this thread at least once a week now that the challenge has started, even if you have not finished a book in that time. That way, we know you are still active and participating in the challenge.
Also -- I am pretty sure there will be a mini challenge later this month that involves the book recommendations that UNO Pixie asked for. For those of you new to UNO, there are typically mini challenges each month that start near the middle of the month that allow teams to get bonus points based on reading books that fill certain requirements. When I know more, I'll let you know.
I think that's it for now. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask. Nikk, Catie, and I are all here to help.
Happy reading!

That was a bad call on my part to choose a non-fiction. Had no places and no characters.PS: Can someone post the hands drawn? Or a link to the place where it has been? I couldn't find it.
It's at the very top, in the first post, it says Team Spreadsheet. Sorry I can't post the link, I'm on my phone, but just check the first post.

Not a bad call at all! It still fits for a few things and that's what matters :) Plus, 0 Yellow was one of our colored cards this month, so it was actually a really helpful read as it could fill that spot!
Also, you can find all of our hands for the month on this spreadsheet.

Got it! In case you wanted to know: You just have to "copy image address" from the book cover image and paste that into the bar — but I have no problem checking books for you (or anyone)! Looks like this one is mostly yellow so we can use it as a Wild Draw 4 since it dupes the 0 Yellow card :)
Everyone is doing awesome! Hope everyone is enjoying their reads so far! To keep you updated on my end — I should finish my first sometime today (that's the goal at least) and finish my second (the audiobook) sometime during the week this week.

Sarah wrote: "Should we consider looking into items we can use for Reverse cards? :)"I've been checking for all of mine! If you click on the book's page, you can see which of the people on your friends list have read it. A decent amount of the books I've decided to read someone else from the group has read, too-- especially if they're popular books.
To add on to what Catie said (which I have found to be the easiest way to see what fits for Reverse, though you can also browse teammates' "read" shelves), we also have a surprisingly low number of Reverse this month (only 3). We do have several right now that could fit Reverse, but I have placed them differently in the spreadsheet because (aside from colored cards) I have been filling the first hands first. So, technically none of those three Reverse spots have been filled yet. If you want to find books for Reverse, I say go for it :) But don't feel like you have to. I can always rearrange the spreadsheet later if needed to move around ones that can fit for Reverse that are currently placed as another card.

It was sooo good! From what I can tell, it seems to be a very divisive book, you either love it or you hate it, but you should definitely give it a try.

Yes, it's coming up at less than 50%. Although I think some of the areas that the tool is counting as black are actually dark green, the percentage would still be less than 50 green, even if that got overruled. But we can definitely use it as one of our non-colored cards!
