Laura | 2892 comments Ugg. Just finished my red book, and it works for nearly every category, except 7!

Color cards we still need:

Green 7
Red 7
Yellow 8
Yellow 0

message 302: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2892 comments I think I can cover the Yellow 8. Song for Sophia by Moriah Densley is set in England. Hopefully it won't get more specific than that, so it works for the E. :)

Diana Costa | 1027 comments Turns out I am not reading The handamaid's tale for now. I started it yesterday, but I am not felling it happening. I'll do something else!

Don't worry about it. The new version you linked is also not 50% red. It was more white than red. :)

It also had an E character, so that one is taken care of! Adding it to the spreadsheet now.

Sarah Twiggs (twiggssl) | 572 comments Do we still need a Green 7?

I am reading The Virgin Suicides and the color extractor says it's 52% green...might want to double check it...

We do. We need Green & Red 7s and a Yellow 0.

Unfortunately, that is one of those books where it matters that the default is checked to exclude the background color. So it wasn't counting the white. Once you uncheck that box, the white is the dominant color and the green is about 42%, when you add the 2 greens together. At least that was the result for the edition that you have as currently reading. :)

I had a feeling that little box would come into play, but was hoping it wouldn't, lol.

I will keep browsing my shelf and see what I have...

Ugh I've been the worst at reading the thread. I just saw you were reading one for that card. I didn't pick this up for the color (I absolutely adore the Flavia de Luce series) so I am cool with it going anywhere :)

I am trying to find one to fit either the red or green 7 now. It is proving to be a tad difficult...

No worries! :)

Me too! Yesterday I found a Blue 7, and I was so happy until I saw that what we need are Red or Green covers. These are the worst, seriously!

Seriously! I thought it would be easy and I could use Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7) by J.K. Rowling then I realized it hasn't been six months since I read it :(

Jessica | 317 comments I am going to start a re-read of the Throne of Glass series. If we still need a green 7 by the time I get to it, Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass, #3) by Sarah J. Maas (3rd in series) will work.

Can you put a date read on your shelf for the book? It's not showing a date when I look at your Uno shelf.

Actually, I'm going to put Jessica's book down for a 1, because we have a bunch of those! So we still need your book for Yellow 0, Diana.

Laura | 2892 comments Alright, Team Kuiper! The March mini-challenge has been posted!

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Basically, we have to solve this crossword puzzle, and then the missing letters are books we read for.

I'm sure all teams will have the puzzle solved in a day or two, but to avoid helping them, if you have an answer, please PM me or Kristel, or fill it in on our planning spreadsheet. I'm going to get something set up right now.

Once we solve the puzzle, we read books that match the missing letters. Books have to fit in one of the following ways:

“Spell-it-out" rules:
Letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name AND you can use cover items on books (e.g. an Avocado on the cover can be used for A)
Where the key says "digit" (in 8 Down) that means that you are looking for a number (e.g. 7) and not a letter

As always, books started before the mini-challenge starts can't be used. Here's the countdown:
https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...
