Part 2: Team Pyxis has Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen . Both books have a hand-drawn man and woman on the cover.

I'm always worried I'm stretching the connections a little too far. What do you think about this one?

Annalisa | 1659 comments @ Michelle,
What you found works for me. Here are some other options. As we get closer to completing this I know we are going to need those options.

Team Gurs
Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys and Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus by John Gray both have covers that are over 50% green.

Team Triangulum
A is for Alibi (Kinsey Millhone, #1) by Sue Grafton and Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus by John Gray again both have covers that are over 50% green.

Team Pyxis
Black The Birth of Evil (The Circle, #1) by Ted Dekker and Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus by John Gray have covers that are over 50% green.

Annalisa | 1659 comments I'm currently reading Sandry's Book and The Color of Magic They fit team Eris and Team Pyxis. I should finish both tonight or tomorrow. I have a The Assassin and the Underworld, which is 102 pages and would fit team Triangulum. I don't know if I will get to it or not. Also, I'd have to see if it meets the word count. It might not.

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments I kept thinking we had to finish the mini challenges by this weekend. I guess I'm getting my challenges mixed up. According to the rules, we have until the 28th, right? If so, that makes me feel much better. I can easily get another book or three in by then and maybe we can fit one in somewhere if there's any spots left.

Annalisa | 1659 comments Updated to here.

We only have 5 books left to finish the mini!

I will probably finish The Color of Magic today. I wish my laundry would do itself and I didn't have to go grocery shopping.

Here are the spaces that are currently open:
Team Tucana: Melissa is reading a book to fill the last space there.
Team Triangulum: Open
Team Pyxis: I'm reading a book for this one.
Team Gurus: Su Ah said she had a book for here.
Team Carina: Su Ah also said she had a book for here.

I think we should be able to finish this by the 28th. If didn't commit to a book but you have finished a book that fits one of these places we can move things around to make it work.

@Michelle, first in series doesn't work. I found a book that also had a black and grey cover and matched it with that.

We only have 3 books left now and they are all claimed. If someone has a book they finish and it fits one of those three spots we can move things around in case someone committed to a book isn't able to finish.

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) | 1759 comments Hey Jupiters! I’m from Mensa and I read Still Life (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #1) by Louise Penny from your recommendations. I enjoyed the book. It took some getting used to the style of writing, but overall an enjoyable read. Some great characters and I liked the setting off the book. I think I’ll read more in this series.

I have three more completed books - I tried to see if I could fit them into any of the open spots, but didn't find anything. But I'm posting them just in case we need something and you can move things around.

Thanks for stopping by, Danielle! I'm so glad you liked the book, this series is one of my favourite!

Elena | 419 comments I finished a book for another challenge last night, not sure if it fits anywhere though. I have it on UNO shelf but can remove if it doesn't get used if it helps to keep things less confusing. Let me know! :)

message 377: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I moved a few things and got Kissing Tolstoy to fit. I would need more time to fit the other books in.

Did anyone see a place where these books would fit? Even if it is a place that is full. There are some books that can be moved, but it needs to make it so we can fit a new book in their place. I'll work on it more tomorrow evening.

message 378: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments Thanks for taking over the updating Annalisa :)

I've completed my book and updated the spreadsheet with the date.

Any book that we are currently reading can be used for March IF it is completed after the beginning of March's month - so after 3am March 1.

message 379: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments I'll add our color cards and count up the totals for March on Thursday to update the spreadsheet.

message 380: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments @Melissa does that leave one space open for the February Mini? If Su Ah doesn't finish her book hopefully we can find a fit from the books Sandy and Elena finished. I'll look at it when I get home from work.

I have a red book that will fit either the 1 1st in series or the 4 setting Fairyland. I'm about half way through it and it has been a slow read so I know I won't finish it before the 1st.

We have finished all books for February!

As Melissa said if you are reading a book currently and finish it after March 1st we can count it for our March books. We are going to need a lot of reverses this month. We have 10 of them.

@Melissa you can see card numbers and totals for March in post #368.

message 383: by Elena (new)

Elena | 419 comments Awesome! Way to go, us!

I finally got my turn for Turtles from the library a few days ago, that's one reverse! :)

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 367 comments Hi Team Jupiter. I finished A Thousand Splendid Suns today written by the author of The Kite Runner which your team recommended.

It was a great read! I am just happy that at least one of the women lived the rest of her life well. While I would have loved it better if Mariam at least had a better life, I guess it would be too much of a Hollywood ending if both women's lives had a better trajectory after the death of their bull of a husband.

I'm not sure how accurate the book was in painting the culture that was the backdrop of the story but it was enlightening to how much different it was.

message 385: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments Thanks Annalisa! I'll add them tomorrow when I'm back in work.

You all did an awesome job!!! So proud of us :)

message 386: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments I'll be finishing up The Bear and the Nightingale this month so we can use that for a Reverse since Annalisa read it.

message 387: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments I have a Blue and Yellow cover book that I can read this month. Don't know if they fit the colored cards by looking at them I'll need to read through to see but I'll work on at least one of them next week while I fly out for work again. :)

Thanks for the help while I'm traveling Annalisa. The spreadsheet looks great and we should be good to go.

Just a note - which I didn't know until the mods pointed it out to me - for the Wild Cards we cannot use the same card in the hand twice. For example in Hand 4 we used the SKIP card for both Wilds and we could only use it for one. I changed it and we are ok now but just so you know, in case you didn't, for March and April. :)

Michelle's Empty Nest (mlundy5) | 13 comments Thank you both for keeping us organized and in line with the rules!! :-)

message 389: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1347 comments You guys make it easy!!

March is underway - remember any book you started during the challenge and finish in March we can count. There will be another mini-challenge half-way through the month so I can't wait for that :)

If anyone is currently reading for a COLORED card please let me know and I'll mark you in that spot. Otherwise we'll do everything the same as last month. I think that worked out pretty well :)
