I read Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban because someone recommended the Harry Potter series :)

I have read this series before, but it truly has been about three years since I have read this. I remembered how much I absolutely adored this book, and it's my second favorite in the series (the first being Half-Blood Prince :D). This book introduces two of my favorite characters in the series, Lupin and Sirius. Even though you get more character involvement with Sirius in the next book, it is the start of a great relationship (if not short lived) between Harry and Sirius.

So it looks like you actually have the Yellow 2 covered with The Wasp Factory. If you're not planning on that one anymore, I can add Magician: Master which can cover the yellow 2 (and maybe the 1 - theres a lot of people in it)

I've so far got books to cover Reds 2, 3 and 8 as well. Which is good, because we do have to hit THREE of the colored cards twice to cover our additional three Wild Draw 4 cards. A colored card can only work once as a Wild Draw 4 - so we can read two books for, say, Red 2, but not three.

Also it looks like Nicole can cover the Red 5 with The Vegetarian character Kim In-hye.

"The more we give the captain the more magic they can work with our cards" should literally be the UNO motto xD

I agree with you Megan that The Templar Legacy looks yellow, but according to the color site we have to use it actually has no yellow at all in it. I was really surprised! Its all whites and browns. I actually dislike the color site quite a bit....or more, the overly rigorous adherence to it by mods even when what's literally in front of their human eyes disagrees with what the robot says >(

I have decided I must be colorblind because when I look at some of the covers I see blue, red, yellow etc. and then the site says its brown, grey or whatever. I check every book by Tineye Labs to make sure but so far none of my books make the grade.

Your 2 books is a good example of what we've been talking about.

The Help is 63,1 % yellow but The Great Gatsby which looks very yellow is only 35.6 % yellow and 42,7 % brown.

Actually thing brings up a second good point - you have to be careful using Tineye. It is set by default to exclude the background color. If you turn that off, so include the background, Gatsby is 84% yellow. I think its very strange the default is to exclude colors.

This, I realize now, is why last month Virna and I had such different results for Crown of Swords which is very obviously blue.

Although it turns out this edition: is not yellow enough even with the background included. Tineye is telling me The Help is only 39% yellow :/ BUT this edition: is yellow enough

Hey guys just thought I would give a quick update as its been rather quite around here. In the first week this month we've read 27 books and finished off 43 cards!

That's one book for each card, plus 8 cards that were covered by the same book, plus the 8 Draw 2 cards themselves. This means we are 41% finished with our UNO cards for the month :D According to the ranking we are currently in 5th place out of the 22 teams.

I know it's a bit quite now, but please make sure to update regularly as we move through the month - especially if you are working on one of the ultra important color cards :D

We should be hearing about the mini-challenge probably around Monday, so please be keeping on eye out for that. As we saw last month, the chat will go start moving very quickly once that happens

"Spell-it-out" rules: VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS

Okay we need to read 58 books. My suggestion to starts with would be to look at books you've already planned for March and see what turns up with the extra letters. I would say we probably want to get a plan in place for the more difficult letters: U, Q, Y, C and the 4. If people want to claim these, that is fine as I'm treating these a bit like color cards. For the others we'll kind of do it like we do regular UNO for the moment. As we get closer to the end of the month is when we'll need people to really read for specific letters.
