Anne returns home, obviously conflicted about something. Should Cork have pushed for her to share or was giving her time for solitary reflection more appropriate?

He never pushes does he. In this case I doubt she would have opened up until she was ready. It is sad though that Cork thinks all his kids talk to everyone else before they come to him.

I think his kids emulate his communication style. It’s the one thing Cork’s not done well in his personal relationships. We saw it with Jo, now with Rainy. His kids have the idea that he’ll try to fix it or react in a way they’re not ready for. I believe Cork could have helped Anne arrive at the same place she ended up but her unwillingness to open up to him was telling.
