Niahahaha :p
It's still a work in progress though.

Any cell that doesn't respond to color changes is being controlled by conditional formatting, which Virginie hinted at... right click any affected cell and scroll down the menu and click conditional formatting... then click on the ruleset (in this case L15:N250), and adjust the colors from there... I think you ALSO need to control the colors the normal way, as well... the idea is that when the numbers are 0s, the text color matches the background color, so it looks blank, and when you have books to add, the color is the color you set the normal way, at the top, so you can see the numbers...
Hope that helps...

Those are optional... you can skip Author/Series/Rating and the math still happens...

Virginie did the chat in google sheet thing and walked me through the conditional formatting :-)

I know they're not linked but I thought it was something the challenge now wanted filled out. If it's optional I'll probably skip it. I hate trying to spell authors' names correctly.
Rob, would you mind starting a new thread with those links as the first comment? :)
So excited to start using this spreadsheet lol. We are certainly spoiled at FBR (especially when you consider what my original tracking plan was lol).

Virginie, how is the best way to track my genres? I want to add a genre tracker and some way of seeing how I balance out my reading (pie chart possibility?). I also want to maybe track publication years for my books read, maybe graphically.... I just think those would be fun and interesting.
I hope I'm not asking for too much, but I'm not an excel goddess like you are.

Lol, I just copy paste from a second tab, too, and just double check them to make sure I keep the format write and don't cut off letters. But I'm still lazier than you are.

I can't seem to paste into my 2019 sheet... nothing happens when I try... did you put protections on the sheets or something?
Edit: nevermind... it worked when I used CTRL-V... it just didn't when I tried CTRL-Shift-V (values only pasting)

Them bar graphs are my favorite feature of the 2019 sheet... altho I lost them when I removed all the read dates for the 100 books I copied over from my Buddy Read Tracker spreadsheet :)
2020 idea: formulas automatically stop on Halloween, ignoring anything from November/December...
Conditional formatting... for some reason the Yes/No coloring is only in cell i24. at least on my sheet...

Easily done. Just use the hidden month column, and plug in a <10 conditions in the sum formulas :)

'Cause you only applied it to cell I24...? ;)

Thanks for all the hardwork guys!

Fixed.

I didn't apply any conditional formatting to the sheet... I thought it was something you guys implemented and didn't copy down the column... weird...
