Rob (nefariasbredd) | 2418 comments Is someone messing around with the sheet? Looks like some of the top leaders' totals have suddenly changed - virginie and Iain's sheets in particular. Plus the joke on Iain's sheet.

please undo this. I don't have time to fix this right now.
This. is not a toy

Oh... I thought you were talking about my comment for the new guy to copy a sheet to use the layout... I didn't donate my points away... I didn't even realize anything had happened until Rob pointed it out...

Hailee | 2762 comments The spreadsheet scares me. I had a look at it a few months ago out of curiousity and although I'm looking forward to actually taking part next year, having to update the spreadsheet and potentially messing it up is slightly (very) terrifying!!!

It's low maintenance as long as you ignore everybody else's sheets... you just need to plug in book names and finish dates, and a couple y/n's to mark graphic novels, buddy reads, and a challenge books (and audiobooks next year)... the spreadsheet does all the math, and Virginie can make your sheet colorful... and a handful of people are willing to fill in sheets for people if they don't want to or can't on their mobile device...

message 657: by Virginie (last edited Jul 28, 2018 09:28AM) (new)

Virginie | 6109 comments Yes, like Iain said, the basic sheet is quite simple to update. Some people added a bunch of stats but it's all optional. If you want, I'll pitch in and make it less eye-jaring. I'm actually thinking I could create 'templates' for next year, like Iain suggested.

If you have trouble accessing the sheet, then you can always ask your team to update it for you. I'm doing it for a few members of Tome Raiders right now. I'm actually enjoying it because I really feel involved in their reading that way :p

So you don't have to worry about it. Even if you end up 'messing it up', the excel geek squad will fix it for you :)

Yes I was talking about your spreadsheet. I saw you down to 900 points and a note that you were donating to the Tome Raiders. Was that not your doing?

The worst part is that I usually update the scorecards before they announce their reads on the team thread. Cause I'm stalking their profil pages and updates... xD

Huuuuum. Let's just say I volunteered Iain. You know, he has so many points, I'm not even sure he's human :p. I honestly intended for Iain to notice the little prank, than put it back to normal but I started reading and... forgot -_-"
Yup, I'm dumb that way.

@Rob: Sorry if I annoyed you. I'll keep my shenanigans to my own scorecard., I promise. Please don't un-knight me :'( I'm very proud of being "Virginie of House Google Sheets"

Zaara and me had some theories about Iain. One of them was, that Iain isn't one person but actually two, Iain and Laine (or that he just had two personalities). But two persons pretending to be Iain would explain the huge amount of books he (they) manages to read 😂

I'm just like everyone else... in that the competition has gotten me to read more than usual... I'm approaching my yearly record already... only 10-15k pages to go...

message 669: by Lena (new)

Thanks for always watching out for problems with the spreadsheet, by the way. This time was one of my antics, but it's really reassuring to know you're here to save us from a big Excel apocalypse if need be :p

This is not the sole theory Anni and I have about Iain. Tho' I think we may be wrong on the other ones, Ghost 😂़😜😝
By the way, we are keeping "Lain".
Lain is modest. Lain is cheerful. Lain is a claarsy laaaaaaaaydy. Lain is devilishly popular. Lain moves in such a waaaaay.
Lain is Yowza. Lain makes strong men trip over their feet and crick their necks looking at her as she passes in the street.
Lain has more curves than a scenic railway.
All the men want her.
All the women want to BE her.
And the NBC cannot survive without tha' bonny lass.
So there!

We are also *ferocious glare* keeping the Tauntosaur.
Since it is a talking animal n all...

What do you think is wrong? Looks fine at first glance :)

message 699: by Angela Jr. (new)

Angela Jr. | 1126 comments there are random numbers all the way down the points columns (they're not being added to the total, but still weird) and also i'm not entirely sure why shadows of self earns me 4.6 bonus points for a buddy read if it's only 383 pages long ?

message 700: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments I see :) I don't know why but the formula was missing in these fields, maybe it happened while copying someones sheet to create yours? I started fixing it (but the app don't let me drag down colums) and someone else was faster, should be all good now :)
