Elinor | 1548 comments After the fiasco of the last one (I didn't read at all ;p), the Week-End Readathon where I try and continue all the books where I'm late on is back !
Here is my TBR (week-end started a few hours ago for me, and ends on Tuesday night (well I do work on Tuesdays but only 3 hours in the morning so)) :
(those in brackets are non prioritary ones, but you know, I may end up focusing on non priorities, that would be just like me)
- Finish Arc 2 of Worm
( - Read Arc 3 of Worm)
- Finish The Thief Who Spat In Luck's Good Eye
- Read Marques de feu
( - Start one of those : Seuls dans la ville entre 9h et 10h30, La Princesse des glaces or Ava préfère se battre) (I started 2 of them...)

Go go go !

Haha, you should start with finishing Worm, such a quick read!

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Haha 😂😂

message 259: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Definitly ! It's so short I should even be able to finish it tonight !

Good luck with your goals Siobhan !

message 260: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Good luck to you too!

How's it going? Finished Worm yet? 😅

message 261: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Of course Worm is already finished, as well as several other books !
I have not read a lot yet, yesterday evening I watched a documentary on felines, and today, Sunday, usually it is Japanese day, where I study a lot, but today I went to see a play. I only got to read a few pages of La Fortune des Rougon and of Hunting Season. Not a lot, and no Worm, nope ^^" I feel like reading a comic right now, so I think I will do a Supergirl trade, and then go back to lovely Jade, or to the Rougon, depending on the mood ^^

message 262: by Siobhan (new)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Haha! Sounds like you've had a good weekend though :D

Don't hate me, but I finished all my goals! 🏆🥇😂

Maybe they were just a bit more attainable than finishing Worm though.... 🤣

message 263: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Good job !! I'm proud of you !
I would be very happy if I finish interlude 2 from Worm XD

Elinor | 1548 comments The WeekEnd Reading Challenge is back !
My goals :
- finish Thicker Than Blood
- up to 70% at least of Star Nomad
- 150 pages of Assassin's Quest (I was about to check this as done but I forgot it was 150 pages and not 100... I only read 100 --") I did it too ! ✓
Additional goals :
- 1 graphic thing
- finish Star Nomad
- finish arc 4 of Worm (bonus additional goal : read arc 5 as well)

message 266: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments I'm up to 76% in Star Nomad ! I could perhaps even finish it this weekend !

message 267: by Elinor (new)

And you really should continue with Worm! So much is going on!

message 272: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Thanks :)
Yep I'm liking it, but it's difficult to take time to read it since the deadline for finishing it is so far in the future... well plus I know I will never finish it before the deadline ;p But I'm liking it and want to continue it :) (I really hope my ship is going to take form though) (what do you mean, I'm reading books only for ships ? not true, not true... well, mostly not true xD) (I should really stop rambling now XD)

Elinor | 1548 comments The readathon is back ! Not a week-end readathon this time, more a week-and-a-half readathon ! It starts right now and ends on Tuesday 25. Here are my goals :
- finish arc 13 of Worm
- finish Star Witch
- read 2 middle-grade / YA books between, for example :
* La Légende de Podkin Le Brave
* Ava préfère l'amour
* De l'arsenic pour le goûter
* Les aventures extraordinaires d'Alfred Kropp
- finish New X-Men: Academy X - The Complete Collection
- read New X-Men by Kyle & Yost Vol. 1: Childhood's End
- read All Systems Red (I almost forgot about the BR)
Bonus :
- continue City of Glass (only read a few pags but yeah)
- read one manga
- read another comic (I read a bunch actually)

Siobhan (poi5ongirl) | 8702 comments Good luck!! I'll be cheering you from the sidelines!

My only goal is to stop watching TV and finish the books I'm reading. Now I've finished Chernobyl I might be able to do that!

Thanks !
Good luck with your goal as well ! TV can be time consuming ^^

message 276: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Wrap-up time !
I didn't read as many novels as I wanted because I was in a comics reading mood for some time, so I read 7 comics.
I continued Arsenic for Tea, read more than half of Podkin One-Ear, and read a few pages of City of Glass and one chapter of Worm. I also finished Star Witch and read All Systems Red.
Not that bad ^^

Elinor | 1548 comments I'm doing a summer TBR. Here is the catch : if I manage to finish everything, I'm striking 2 books out of my to be earned pile (the one that is even more shame-inducing than the actual TBR pile).
The joker : I can switch 3 books with others (BUT not from the ones in the bonus list) if I'm not in the correct mood OR I can remove 1.
Starting the 1st of July and ending the 31 of August !

Le Crime de l'Orient-Express (alright technically finished June 30th but whatever)
L'école du bien et du mal
L'inespérée
Carry On
City of Glass
Queen of Shadows
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda
Mort à La Fenice
La mort préfère Ava
Unspoken
Miss Seeton Draws the Line
Magic Slays
Ten Things I Love About You
Comment (bien) rater ses vacances
Illuminae
Malronce
Je suis ton soleil
A Great Deliverance
Cold Comfort Farm
Oliver Twist
Deity

The bonus : for every one of them read, 1 book can be removed from the to-be-earned pile... but only if the main ones are read !
The Darkest Part of the Forest
À Visage Couvert
La Princesse des glaces
Sauveur & fils
Aloha from Hell
Victoria: A Life
Restore Me
Empire of Storms
Rendez-vous avec le crime
La Fortune des Rougon

Elinor | 1548 comments One more book and I will be done earning my London book haul ! Yes, that's right, books I bought A YEAR AGO ! (I'm a little bit ashamed of myself) (but also really happy to be finally done with this part of the to be earned pile). As for the books bought after (and of course there are a lot of them as well... ahem), I'm still not counting those that I read right away. I will have to do a haul here of books that I didn't post about but most definitly bought.
As for my summer TBR, well, I'm not really following my list, what a surprise --" But I'm reading quite a lot anyway so still proud of myself and happy with my progress :)

message 279: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments And I'm officially done with the London book haul from last year ! Yeah ! Finally !

message 280: by Elinor (last edited Aug 08, 2019 11:06PM) (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments There is a reading challenge next week at work so of course I had to join ! That's a middle-grade and YA readathon. I'm so not going to win cause there is a really big reader participating and I've got a lot of stuff going on (a marriage, family coming over, and renovation works in my new appartement), but, yeah.
I of course had to buy a few books for it (cause I don't have enough books ! of course I don't !) :
Aurora - L'expédition fantastique by Vashti Hardy
Les chroniques de Zi, tome 1 Phelan by Jean-François Chabat
Swimming Pool by Sarah Crossan
Fablehaven t.1 by Brandon Mull

I also have on my TBR :
Mécaniques Fatales (Tom et Hester #1) by Philip Reeve
Les Secrets d'Aramanth (Le Vent de feu, #1) by William Nicholson
The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp (Alfred Kropp, #1) by Rick Yancey
Restore Me (Shatter Me, #4) by Tahereh Mafi
Saison 1 (Sauveur et Fils) by Marie-Aude Murail
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu

Of course I'm not going to read everything... I'm hoping to read 3 of them at least. FIGHTING !

message 281: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments Good luck, you can do it! :)

Anni | 5066 comments Doesn't One Word Kill count as well? It's also listed as YA...

message 288: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments Ooooh that would be über cool !

message 289: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments I'm couting it as YA, thanks Sir Anni :)

message 290: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments How's the challenge going so far? Are there any updates or do you have to wait till the end of the week, how you were doing?

Also congrats on the new flat! (I somehow missed that you were moving), if you would live closer I would totally come over to help painting or something 😂

message 291: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments That's so nice, thank you ! :D We (and by we I really mean my parents because I got back to work and they are doing so much more than I am ^^) are almost done with the painting part, except for the study-library room :) and then there is the floor stuff. I'm so eager to move ^^

I'm happy with my progress (Moxie, finished One Word Kill, almost done with Mortal engines, started Swimming Pool and some progress in Queen of Shadows and Clockwork Angel), but I don't know how the others are doing and I have to wait till the end of the week for the results. What is nice is that I got some rules clarification and I can continue on books already started as well as start and not finish ones, so I could finish One Word Kill and I can also continue on with Queen of Shadows and Clockwork Angel ! I negociated some bonus for the one I'm reading in English mwahahaha

message 292: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments That's 3 books read, my goal is achieved ! I hope to finish a fourth one now :D

So. I completly went astray from my reading list, but I did get 18 books in July and August, and I'm pretty happy with myself. So I'm going to cheat and say I was kind of succesfull and remove one book from to be earned pile ! (I only have 52 books to be earned now. Well, from those posted here. That makes only 156 books to read to earn them. Easy peasy.)

message 296: by Elinor (last edited Oct 20, 2019 09:03AM) (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments The summer TBR is over, now is the time for the autumn TBR ! Those are the books I want to read / finish before the end of the team reading challenge on the 31th of October. A lot of them are books started this year that I want to finish to earn those points !

Magic Slays
Clockwork Angel
Empire of Storms
Hope and Red
Hangman's Pond
A Great Deliverance
Gardens of the Moon
Daniel Deronda, vol. 1 and Daniel Deronda, vol. 2
Miss Seeton Draws the Line
99 Days
Rogue Protocol
Quartet in Autumn
Devil May Care
Malronce
Tower of Dawn
Kingdom of Ash
La Fortune des Rougon
La Princesse des glaces
L'Or du prédateur
Limited Wish

Plus I will have a bunch of middle grade and YA for another reading challenge - readathon at work, I will add a complementary TBR for this.
(Yep, I'm never going to read them all, but I hope to finish as many as I can !)

message 297: by Elinor (new)

Elinor | 1548 comments 3 books finished in 2 days, I'm pretty pleased with myself ^^
