Thanks, Miche. I'm going to struggle with the one requiring an author published before age 25. I really have no interest in reading Eragon.

I'm still working on my review but I really enjoyed it. Well, "enjoyed" probably isn't the right word because I was mostly stressed out while reading it, especially the last 100 pages or so, lol. Initially I thought I wouldn't like getting other POVs but they all worked for the story and the bigger picture.

Thanks for the suggestion, Hope. I do already own the first book, just haven't ever gotten around to reading it. Now may be the time.
:-)

Hope | 3 comments Cool! What a coincidence. I'm not sure what genres you like, so just a warning it's pretty dark and morally ... flexible? definitely a book with an anti-hero. Enjoy your challenge!

I do for the "under 25 author" one but I haven't thought much about the anti-hero one. I just figured that one would crop up in my regular reading at some point.

message 44: by Virginie (new)

Virginie | 5795 comments Yeah, anti-heroes are quite common in Fantasy (well, mostly in grimdark) :)

I'll be reading The Outsiders The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton by S. E. Hinton. It was published when she was 19 years old and in her freshman year in college (she wrote in while she was in high school). It's the book the 1980s movie was based on.

It's a short book, 192 pages.

Looking at her other works, it seems Matt Dillon starred in several of the movie adaptations of her work. I believe he was also in Rumble Fish by S.E. Hinton and Tex by S.E. Hinton .

I can't say the same but this is one of my favorite books from HS. Only a few come to mind that I liked better.
