Hi everybody! I'm baaaaaccckk! I had so much fun last year, I've just got to do it again! I promised myself I wasn't going to do and big group challenges this year...HA! So much for that! My favorite genres are historical fiction, mystery & YA. I'm a sucker for zombie stories.
Don't really follow new releases too much. It's easier for me to get older titles from the library...
Can't wait to play!
Haha, never say never to team challenges, there's always something that you can't resist, and uno tends to be one of them ;)
Hi everyone! My name is Nikki, and this is my first time ever participating in the UNO challenge, though I'm super excited and can't wait to start! I don't really have a favourite genre, I like too many books and love discovering new genres to read. My most anticipated book of 2018? To be honest, I've had a bit of a reading slump last year and even though in the end I managed to read 20 something books, I still have so much catching up to do with series and new ones coming out, so that's what I'm going to do first. (:
Hi Lauri!Good to see you again! That is a New Year's resolution that deserves breaking...ha! Maybe we'll be on the same team again. :) It's good to know someone else who loves the library as much as I do!
Yay for UNO, this was my gateway into the addictive world of team challenges a few years ago.-Name: Judith
- Team Challenge experience: done several at this point, some lasting months and months (hello, Wobble, what a crazy ride). And usually a captain or co-captain of a team. Although I'm passing on those responsibilities this time due to being pregnant and delivering during the game's time frame.
- Have you joined UNO before? This will be my 4th year I belive
- Favourite genres: fantasy, sci-fi, YA, romance, historical. . .most things besides horror
- Book you can't wait to read in 2018: conclusion to Red Queen series, The Lost Plot (Invisible Library series), and honestly any book I having lying around physically or electronically that I just seriously need to read to clear out the stacks
I know what you mean about cleaning out the stacks, Judith! Sometimes I think my nightstand is going to tip over from all the TBR books on it! And those on my iPad...don't even talk about it!!
Name: Chrystal- Team Challenge experience: zilch
- Have you joined UNO before?: Nope, first time and looking forward to it!
- Favourite genres: sci-fi, fantasy, YA, graphic novels
- Book you can't wait to read in 2018: all the books I have bought but havent read yet. (An entire bookshelf of them I just re-arranged alphabetically. A friend of mine did this and says it helped her read them. Giving it a try.)
I’m so excited! This is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this! Name: Savana
Team Challenge Experience: NONE!! :)
Have you joined UNO before?: nope!
Favorite Genres: fantasy, mystery, YA, some romance
Book you can’t wait to read in 2018: finally going to read LOTR all the way through!
Name: SharonTeam Challenge experience: None
Have you joined UNO before: This is my first experience with the UNO challenge and I'm looking forward to it! Sounds fun!
Favourite genres: Mystery, suspense, fiction, chick-lit (but really I'll read almost anything!)
Book you can't wait to read in 2018: I got a bunch of B&N gift cards for Christmas so I'm looking forward to buying up all the books that have been on my TBR forever and not available at my library!
yaaaiii this will be my 3rd UNO, I love team challenges :) and I'm super excited for this year. I want to read a lot of books this year, one of them is The golden compass a friend of mine gave it as a gift for Christmas
Name: ElenTeam Challenge experience: None, but I'm very excited.
Have you joined UNO before? Nope, it's my first time.
Favourite genres: YA, horror, crime, dystopian, fantasy, science fiction etc. I am open-minded to try new genres.
Book you can't wait to read in 2018: Books that are in my TBR and available in my local library.
I think I've finally found a group of people who use the library as much as I do. It makes me happy to see. I sometimes think o the library as my own personal book collection, which I don't have to worry about dusty or fitting on the shelf. I can't wait to see what books I discover at the library this year.
Annalisa wrote: "I think I've finally found a group of people who use the library as much as I do. It makes me happy to see. I sometimes think o the library as my own personal book collection, which I don't have to..."Ha! So true, Annalisa!
* the past two years already actually! And I can't wait for this year's to start! (Even though I gotta admit it's weird that there have been small changes haha)
We are at 141 sign upsWe are going to close off the initial round of sign ups at around 150, start assigning teams, wait for check-ins, assign reserves, and then make up new teams from there once reserves are placed.
Soooooo
If you have anyone you know that intends to sign up, but hasn't... today is the day!

I haven't said this in two years, but you scare me LOL
Ora wrote: "HI Beth!!!!"ORA!!! Oh my gosh I'm so excited to see you!!
Hello UNO gods, can you put me on a team with Ora? ;)
- Name Tina- Team Challenge experience first timer but excited!!
- Have you joined UNO before? I've played the actual game before but first time playing by reading books.
- Favourite genres its almost easier to list my non favorite. I have trouble getting in to most sci-fi stories and fantasy, but there are always exceptions. I read pretty much everything else.
- Book you can't wait to read in 2018 I honestly have no idea what is coming out this year. If anyone has some good suggestions I'd love to hear them!
Angie ☯ wrote: "Since we are asking the UNO gods, can I be on that team with Ora and Beth too? :-)"this is the dream team!!
Hi everyone! I'm kinda banging my forehead against my desk at the moment, because I dawdled in signing up. I only looked at the challenged two days ago, but wanted to read a little bit about it before I committed. Now I'm a third reserved.. Oh well, it's bad hoping someone doesn't show up when we start, isn't it? lolAnyway, if I'll be able to participate, it will be my first time with a group challenge and a uno challenge. I read mostly romance, but all kinds of sub genres within romance, my favorites being mystery/crime, paranormal, scifi, suspense, thriller, humor etc.
I've just finished my currently read, and am looking through my (huge) tbr list.
Laura wrote: "I’m snowed in and reading! Too bad the game hasn’t started!"I've seen a couple of my friends say they're snowed in! We got some snow yesterday but nothing last night unfortunately.
We have about 14 inches which is considered a lot where we live. But the drifts are crazy!I'm a teacher and we had a snowday today, and we have one again tomorrow. I'm getting so much reading done, it is lovely. I should probably be cleaning the house though...
I miss snow! I am from Tennessee and we'd get a couple minor snow storms a year but I've been in California for the past 12 years. Here when we want to see snow everyone loads up in the car and we drive to "the snow". It still makes me laugh every time i hear some one referring to snow as "the snow".

Laura wrote: "I’m snowed in and reading! Too bad the game hasn’t started!"32c here today
37c tomorrow and 42c on Sunday
Probably double the temps you have right now. LOL
I shall be reading by the pool :)

Ouch, Karen! Way to rub it in! lol
Your temps are more than double ours! It is -5c here today and expected to go down to -17c tomorrow. But we are safe and sound, so I won't complain. Others are not so lucky with this crazy hurricane/snow storm monster hybrid. I think they just made up that Cyclone Bomb term!
I also miss the snow! I've spent most of my life in the American NE and Midwest, so I used to getting at least one or two good snowstorms a year. But, now I'm living in England and it's warm in comparison - albeit windy. It's snowed twice so far, but the snow disappeared really quickly. Although, that didn't stop my co-workers from panicking or offering me a lot of unnecessary advise on how to drive in the snow - it was nice of them, but between living in Chicago and Connecticut I had more experience driving in the snow than the majority offering advise

haha, I guess I forgot to mention where I moved to...But I love it so far - and very dreamy in some places :) I don't live in London, which is a shame, but the rest of England is still pretty amazing
We used to live in the northeast US (New Hampshire). My friends there are having a high of -5F tomorrow! I don't miss that at all. Here in Virginia we have only 2" and schools along with a lot of businesses are shut down for two days! We've lived here for 26 years, but I'll never get used to people's reaction to snow here in the south. lol I agree with you, Laura...Cyclone Bomb, really? It's all about the ratings. :)

where in England are you living? That would be my dream but even just a nice long vacation there would be perfect
