SOLVED. Dolls on poles/stands outside [s]

i can vaguely remember this book but i do remember i enjoyed it quite a bit. It was about this woman who basically created these life sized dolls and had them on stands outside her house, and i think like a nephew or niece or young relative of some kind came to visit her and the child realized the dolls were actually alive or ghosts or something along those lines. if you recognize this please help!!!
