Amanda Tarantino | 4 comments She wakes up and is with a mother, a couple daughters and at least one son. They all work in mill or something of the sort and she ends up falling in love with the oldest son, runs away when he falls for someone else then wakes up just as she returns home for his wedding. There's a portrait of this guy she fell in love with and his bride and her real mother tells her it's some long dead relative. I read this when I was in middle school I think and I'm just interested in whether or not anyone would know the name of it. Thanks!

Amanda Tarantino | 4 comments Oh man...I'm guessing I probably read it in the mid to late 90's-early 2000's. I have no idea if it was new at the time or what

SparksofEmber | 957 comments This sounds really familiar - did it have something to do with mist or fog?

SparksofEmber | 957 comments Ok, I don't think it's the book that I was first thinking of. Fog Magic - she's only 11 so romance is a bit old for her. But I'll keep looking!

SparksofEmber | 957 comments Think I found it - Halfway Down Paddy Lane Halfway Down Paddy Lane by Jean Marzollo "Fifteen-year-old Kate finds herself transported back in time to 1850 in her Massachusetts town, where she must adjust to the prejudices against Irish immigrants, working long hours in a cotton mill, and, tragically, falling in love with her own brother."

Was actually the very first one I clicked on in my world-cat search: subject: time-travel, keyword: Irish
