The Dead Lifeguard - I'm enjoying this one so far, even had a wee creepy moment.Chapter 19 (view spoiler)
The time really gets away from me. I can't believe we are already 13 days into June! I haven't even thought about the next book because I was still in a May mindset. I'm still reading Drop Dead Gorgeous as it is. Just started part 2, page 75. I'm soooo slow!! But I've been distracted by other things. Art and video games! lol
If you like art, my Instagrams for art are @lmae_doodles & @lmae_doodles_wip (shameless plug... hope you don't mind. No pressure! ) I just got a real drawing tablet, so I expect I'm going to be distracted for some time, but I have to learn how to use it haha.
I like art as a mental health coping method and with how the world is, I need a lot of that!
Hope everyone is doing well!!
I finished The Dead Lifeguard, gave it 4 pre-teen-me stars, there were actually a couple of creepy moments and several plot twists, one I didn't see coming.
I'm sorry to be so late but The Dead Lifeguard is probably going to be the last book I squeeze into June. I haven't forgotten i'm just late in getting to it.
Just finished The Dead Lifeguard. I thought this one was kind of convoluted from the beginning. Clearly, something was up but it seemed all over the place. I did like the twist at the end--I didn't see that part coming.
Hey guys! I finally finished Drop Dead Gorgeous. I liked it. However, it was so weird to read a Fear Street book I didn't read as a kid/teen. The modern-day stuff was also strange! Though it isn't one I read, it did have a nostalgic vibe and I can now swear I must have read it. (Know I couldn't have, of course!)There were some twists I didn't seem coming, especially the (view spoiler)
3 stars.
I just started Into The Dark and in chapter 3 I just laughed over the line "Whoops, I've got to go," Cindy said. "My dad needs the phone to get on line." I remember those days! "Get off the computer, I need to use the phone!"
Thanks Tosh, I just bought the kindle version, will try and get to it in the next few days. A 'disabled' protagonist, can we now say RL has some diversity in his writing????
I've read 12 chapters but due to the cliffhanger I skimmed chapters 13-15. I was trying to stop reading but the cliff-hangers! Lol so I had to skim ahead. I'll read it properly later. I have some theories about what's going on but i'm interested to see what is actually the case. It's definitely interesting.I'm glad to see a disabled protagonist, of course i'm not blind so I can't say how it is in that sense, just that so far i'm enjoying it.
Nikki in the Halloween Party was deaf. I just remembered that! I’ll try to buy it this weekend if not sooner and get to it. I’m glad it’s good Tyler. I think this is a later one, near the end of the series.
Ooooh, I haven't read that one. My daughter isn't deaf but has a genetic hearing loss and wears hearing aides so I'm always looking for characters like that.
I've read 16 chapters. I'm finding it hard to focus because of life stuff but it's not the books fault, i'm enjoying the book. So i'm working on it slowly but it'll get done. :)
Tyler J wrote: "I finished and gave it a 3.25. I liked it. It ended up being very predictable though for me."that's not too bad. i think after reading so many of these, they all are predictable.
Alan wrote: "For what it's worth, I'm currently finishing up Bad Hare Day. It's just OK."i haven't read any Goosebumps book.
I know I had I saw you that night but i can not find it anywhere! It's August's pick. I'm going out later today so I will look for it. There's cheap copies on e-bay if i don't find it.
I've got it on kindle app, will hopefully get to it later this week when the spinning of my world slows down a wee bit!
I finished Drop Dead Gorgeous. It was really good. There were definitely at of plot twists that I didn’t see coming (view spoiler) I’m a little late but I did enjoy it.
Glad you enjoyed it kellie. My world's a bit crazy at the moment but I'm determined to still read it, hopefully this week.
Melanie wrote: "Glad you enjoyed it kellie. My world's a bit crazy at the moment but I'm determined to still read it, hopefully this week."I hear ya Melanie! You’ll get to it.
Heya guys! I just wanted to come on here and say hi. I hope everyone is doing okay! At least as okay as possible during this pandemic. Now that the world has opened up a little more, I have to make up for a lot of missed appointments. I'm also doing PT twice a week. I feel like the Grinch when he says, "I'm booked!" (Sorry, I'm such a weirdo... lol)
Other than the manga I read recently, I have not had much mental energy for reading or being social >.< But I'm still here, still alive, kicking (gently) and with you all in spirit and will catch up when I can.
Glad your doing better Leigha! I had to order "I saw you that night" so i'll start it when i get it.
Hi Leigha! Glad you're ok.I'm currently reading 2 books from Hoopla and one from Libby literally just came in (kindred) but I have "I saw you that night" and will get to it sometime this month. I've been mostly just wanting to read lately.
Great to hear from you Leigha, I think I'm now 3 months behind on my reading :-( but everyone seems to be doing it a wee bit tough at the moment. Nice to know we all have each other and are understanding. Bring on 2021! ....but not too soon....I still have 2020 books to read...
Finally started HIde and Shriek, and for a middle school book it's actually quite good! Just finally got the game in the woods.
Done! I really liked it, more than I thought I would, and it kept me reading without getting too frustrated with the characters. 4 stars, thanks Tosh :-)
Your welcome. I liked it more than I expected too as well. Especially considering the age group it was written for.
Good to hear from you Leigha! Sorry guys, I've been really behind too but I'm hoping to read both July and August books in the next week or so.
I've read 5 chapters so far and I am liking it. One of the characters is named Ursula so I can't help but think of The Little Mermaid, which came out 5 years before this book. lol

Hi Leigha! Glad to see you. I’m a little behind in reading too. No worries
Melanie wrote: "Done! I really liked it, more than I thought I would, and it kept me reading without getting too frustrated with the characters. 4 stars, thanks Tosh :-)"I’m glad you enjoyed it Melanie! I enjoyed it too. I couldn’t put it done.
I just finished "I Saw You That Night!" and I enjoyed it. Gave it 3.5 stars. I was thinking it was predictable, yet enjoyable, until one last plot twist at the end I didn't see coming.
I still have to read July's book, and then August! I'm so far behind, but I think we can all be forgiven for being a bit fluffy-headed at the moment.
