Sorry to hear that Charlotte. When in a reading slump I always re-read some of my favourites, that seems to help enormously for me.

I don’t really do much re-reading (unless it’s Twilight or 50 Shades), graphic novels can normally get me going again - but not this time.Not much is holding my interest - I might dust off an old gothic novel challenge I set myself a few years back (December seems the perfect time to start that - The turn of the screw is on that list).
I probably won’t run this again next year - but if anyone wants to take it on and run with it/change it they are more than welcome.

Sadly I keep forgetting & end up picking other books.
I just don't know where the year goes! I've updated my challenge - did okay. I thought I would close out more series than I did. But I noticed I didn't even start working on these until like March even though I set up my list in January. Not sure now what happened there.I liked this challenge - at least for what I wanted from it. There are lots of 'series' challenges around the groups in GR and I decided to use this one a little differently since we weren't bound by anything but 'finish' the series - a lot of the others are progressive or have other stipulations for the series to be part of the challenge. Anyway, hopefully this will be back for 2019 :-)

Well I didn’t finish, but I did make some progress so I’m happy 😊 I hope this challenge is back again next year, I really enjoy it.

Let’s see how many are interested in it running again. As I posted before, this is the 7th year I’ve run it - but I hate odd numbers and it will really annoy me if I don’t end on an even number.....
I’ve been depressed most of the year and my reading has suffered because of it. I’m conscious that I haven’t really participated in my own challenge this year and worried that I’d let people down. Silly, I know.
Silly, but understandable. The mind plays funny tricks on us :(
Sorry you haven't had a good year, Charlotte. Here's hoping 2019 is better for ya and good to all of us. I didn't get through all of mine either. I read 14 of the 33 I'd guesstimated I'd read. Not bad.
Sorry, you've had a tough time Charlotte - I hope the new year gets brighter for you! Whether you choose to run this challenge again or not, I hope you can find some inspiration in whatever reading you do decide on :-)
I really liked this challenge! I did better than I expected. I planned for about 1/4 of my total reading of the year to be dedicated to finishing series - which would have been 50 books. I'm ending the year right around 80 for this challenge. (Currently, I have 77 complete but I just checked out 3 books that I can possibly finish before 12/31.) I would love to continue next year!Charlotte, sorry to hear about your reader's block! I'm sure you've tried all the tricks by now but when I'm in a slump, I usually try reading and listening to the audio at the same time ... it reminds me of when I was a kid with my record player and I would turn the page when I heard the "brrrrringgg!" Lots of good memories. Also, it forces me to be less distracted if I tell myself that I have to follow along. Fingers crossed for you!
On a side note, my health insuance company gives me points for working toward better mental health (and health in general). So, to earn extra points, I use the 5-minute Journal app and the Stop, Breathe, Think app. 5-minute Journal focuses on positive thinking - which sounds totally lame to me but does actually help put me in a different frame of mind. I use that one daily - even when I don't want to; even when I feel like I say the same things over and over. I use Stop, Breathe, Think when things are super overwhelming - panic, despair, desolation. Last week I had to do one of the meditations 3 times in a row before I felt any relief but it did eventually offer a life preserver to keep me from drowning in a sea of sadness. I hope you can find something to ease your burden, too.
