I am calling it done for this year!Did not quite make it to level three; my problem was, as I suspected it would be, new releases. I could only find seven , still it was pretty close. And I am using this challenge as the basis for my personal challenge next year :)

Brenda wrote: "Well done Clare and Deborah!!"Thank you, Brenda. I should probably add a HUGE shout out to Allen and Unwin, without whom I would not have done as well at the new releases.
The Clockmaker's Daughter and The Yellow House were both advancedto me by them and they were both brilliant books which I would throughly recommend/
I have reviewed them both, and -no self promotion or anything- but everyone, feel free to have a look at the reviews and tell me what you think
Massive congratulations to all finishers! A brilliant effort from all! :) I've got two to go, it'll be down to the wire...
My fifth of six from the New Releases category. :) The Memories That Make Us by Vanessa Carnevale. Completed 16/12 - 5 stars.
I have 4 books left to read for the 36 books in this challenge -aaahhh! Hope I can finish this, but seeing as I didn't start until the 8th of July, that's not too shabby :)
That's certainly a credit to you Jazzy!!! So if it sneaks over into January, no one will argue :)
Three books left for this challenge - all Aus make authors. Might have to find a few small books ;) ;)

Haven't updated the challenge since mid-semester break in September!! These are the AA's I have managed to read in 2018. It seems new releases are my kryptonite. I have had a good year in AA's, rediscovering my love for Garth Nix and Alison Goodman, authors I haven't really read in years. Well done to everyone else, I'm off to look through your completion posts for books to read in 2019!

Other Australian books read this year (just in case people are looking for some inspiration) were:
Stars Across the Ocean by Kimberley Freeman - a sweet romance and adventure
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend - I love Morrigan Crow :-)
Marlborough Man by Alan Carter - so good, I'm going back for more Alan Carter
Daughter of the Murray by Darry Fraser - a fun read and a sweet romance
Under the Cold Bright Lights by Garry Disher - loved it, gritty!
The Rules of Backyard Croquet by Sunni Overend - this was such a fun read
Bluebottle by Belinda Castles - not a "comfortable" story, but I was so immersed in the family and the location, I loved it!
Defiant: A Broken Body Is Not a Broken Person by Janine Shepherd - what a strong woman, wow!
Boy Swallows Universe by Trent Dalton - not my favourite (a bit dark), but worth reading
We See the Stars by Kate van Hooft - I didn't enjoy this one
Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend - even better than the first!
The Lost Man by Jane Harper - awesome! I seriously love Jane Harper.

Michelle, I've been known to change my original choices if somebody more attractive comes along! You could swap Trent Dalton for your male author and swap The Lost Man for your mystery and hey, presto! You're done!
Go on - do it!

At least you competed Jazz. I didn’t read a single book from the challenge and couldn’t even make my reading goal for 2018, but here’s to a new year, and another challenge!!!
