so, ends up I read 103 books that I own...which would be a source of pride if it wasnt for the fact that I started the year with 445 owned-to read books, and am ending the year at 499.... :( I am still trying to figure out my totals as my spreadsheet didnt work on a few items

OK, so I failed all my other challenges this year, mostly because I really took this one to heart. The plan is to move in 2019, and I really have to reduce the number of boxes I move!
so here are the numbers:
I started the year with 228 on my TBR list, finished with 202. Most of those are physically owned books, so this was the closest I could come to a real number. I still have boxes of books that have not listed on Goodreads, but at least I did not add more unread books into those boxes.
I read 105 books that I owned, and made most of them go away from me. Hurray! I only read print books, so no points there. Even so, I had no problem getting points from the books I read, as I had so many for so long.

So final tally is - 5,205 points not bad at all

so when I added in my series points, my score was 6090 for 103 owned books, so a bonus of 150 for reading over 100, but no bonus for melting the iceberg

so 6240, or 60.58 a book

surprisingly, my largest point book was one of my most hated, Drums of Autumn, which with its huge page count, being in a series and having sat on my shelf for so long netted 235 points

No bonus for ending with a smaller collection than I began with. Not even close... my score was greater than zero, so I call that a win!

Well I got more than I expected!!
with 14 books i got 2100 points!
I got the 500 point bonus (barely) for fewer books owned!
And my spouse assured me I got the embarrassing cover points for several such as Discount Armageddon and Dreamsnake haha.

I read several old Hugo winners that may be older than I am at almost 40 which helped with the points: the Diamond Age, Dreamsnake, To Say Nothing of the Dog, and nominees Eifelheim

I'm doing a "backlog burndown"-type challenge this year and decided to redo this challenge on my own for 2019. I was curious how my score would look in comparison to last year's, since I gave up on getting the 500-point "out > in" bonus quite early in 2018. So far, so good!

Last year was 1235, and this year is 1000 already, and I'm easily in contention for the nice juicy bonus, too. :D
