I had a feeling when I added Agatha to the list that was the series I would end up reading. It has been tough holding off on the series until I could add it for a serial read. I picked up the first two book combo on my Nook a few weeks back when it was on sale. Thanks for picking it.

Thanks for the great pick, Barbara. I know what you mean about the appealing wilderness aspect of the Search & Rescue series. Unfortunately there are only 3 in the series, so reading these 2 will finish it up for me.

Because this is my birth month, I'm choosing from the series that got me interested in cozy mysteries.

Hannah Swensen mystery series
#9 Key Lime Pie Murder (Hannah Swensen, #9) by Joanne Fluke and #9.5 Candy Cane Murder (Hannah Swensen, #9.5) by Joanne Fluke

Savanah Reed mystery series
#6 Sour Grapes (Savannah Reid, #6) by G.A. McKevett and #7 Peaches and Screams (Savannah Reid, #7) by G.A. McKevett

Harper Connelly mystery series
#2 Grave Surprise (Harper Connelly, #2) by Charlaine Harris and #3 An Ice Cold Grave (Harper Connelly, #3) by Charlaine Harris

No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency mystery series
#6 In the Company of Cheerful Ladies (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, #6) by Alexander McCall Smith and #7 Blue Shoes and Happiness (No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, #7) by Alexander McCall Smith

and Miss Marple mystery series (if this isn't part of the cozy category then please disregard it)
#6 They Do It with Mirrors (Miss Marple, #6) by Agatha Christie and #7 A Pocket Full of Rye (Miss Marple #7) by Agatha Christie

Thank you so much!

Cynthia

The matches for the January challenge were made almost three weeks ago. Sorry that you missed it. The deadlines for this challenge are firm because of how participants are paired.

I will be posting the thread for next month's challenge on the 15th. Feel free to copy your post to the February thread when it opens.

I send an email blast to CMC members each month. Not sure why it reached you so late. In case it happens again, keep in mind that the sign-up for this challenge is from the 15th to the 20th.

btw - Agatha Christie definitely fits as a cozy. Her books are considered the originators of the cozy/traditional mystery genre.

I have to agree. I got a free copy of the first three books on audio. The first one (Quiche of Death) was strange, and I almost didn't read the second. The second (The Vicious Vet) was better and more humorous. I'm on the third one (The Potted Gardener) now, and I'm not sure I like her at all!

message 90: by Suranjana (new)

Suranjana | 47 comments I finished my two Miranda James books (Murder Past Due and Classified as Murder) today. ☺️
