So sorry I missed the deadline for January. I may just pick somebody else's series and "read along." In the meantime, I hope everyone has wonderful holidays.

I had a feeling when I added Agatha to the list that was the series I would end up reading. It has been tough holding off on the series until I could add it for a serial read. I picked up the first two book combo on my Nook a few weeks back when it was on sale. Thanks for picking it.
Hi Helen sorry for the delay! I am going to pick the Oceanside Hotel Series for you! I hope you enjoy your books (and your travel!)
Barbara wrote: "Connie N. wrote: "This year I want to make some progress on series that I've just started.A Chrissy McMullen Mystery - Lois Greiman (ongoing)
[bookcover:Unscrewed|1..."Thanks for the great pick, Barbara. I know what you mean about the appealing wilderness aspect of the Search & Rescue series. Unfortunately there are only 3 in the series, so reading these 2 will finish it up for me.
Danielle wrote: "Hi Helen sorry for the delay! I am going to pick the Oceanside Hotel Series for you! I hope you enjoy your books (and your travel!)"Thank you Danielle. They could be very appropriate where I'm going.
Thank you, Meg!I read several of her Regencies, too, and I love her books. She's one of my fav authors. Merry Christmas :)

The matches for the January challenge were made almost three weeks ago. Sorry that you missed it. The deadlines for this challenge are firm because of how participants are paired.
I will be posting the thread for next month's challenge on the 15th. Feel free to copy your post to the February thread when it opens.
I send an email blast to CMC members each month. Not sure why it reached you so late. In case it happens again, keep in mind that the sign-up for this challenge is from the 15th to the 20th.
btw - Agatha Christie definitely fits as a cozy. Her books are considered the originators of the cozy/traditional mystery genre.

Congrats, Hilary and Meg!I finished my first January book today,
Duplicate Death by Georgette Heyer. Really good, kept me guessing til the end.
Finished my first book of the month. Will get to book 2 after reading my current read. So Agatha Raisin....what an amusing introduction.

I finished my first book for this month,
. It was a cute, fun read. Looking forward to starting the second one in a few days.
Finished both my books early this month, while on holiday in Solomon Islands and totally off the grid. They were quite short, but fun to read.
Forgot to post: I finished my second January book
Detection Unlimited by Georgette Heyer. A clever mystery and I'm a little bit sad that this was the last book in series.
Finished my second book for the month - Freezer I'll Shoot. This is an enjoyable series and I look forward to reading more.
Gary wrote: "Nearly done with my second book. About 35 pages to go. Agatha Raisin is definitely a weird person."I have to agree. I got a free copy of the first three books on audio. The first one (Quiche of Death) was strange, and I almost didn't read the second. The second (The Vicious Vet) was better and more humorous. I'm on the third one (The Potted Gardener) now, and I'm not sure I like her at all!
