Grades are done! I have the rest of 2017 to read! I finished Carnegie’s Maid, an ARC from NetGalley, and A Body at Bunco, the eighth in my favorite cozy mystery series. I’m now working on another NetGalley ARC, Woman at 1000 Degrees. This is Book #99 for the year. I think I’m going to hit 100, which is absolutely unbelievable to me.
I'm going to have more time to read! Starting Friday, I will have 10 days off for the next 11 days! :o See, I took Friday off, we're getting Christmas Day and the day after off. I took next Thursday and Friday off because we're having my niece and nephews sleep over, and then I have New Year's Day off! Wowza! We usually don't get the day after Christmas off. So lots of time to finish up this year's challenges!
I finished The Silver Linings Playbook audio and Liberty last night.
Halfway through Because It Is My Blood audio. Going to hijack my hub's laptop tomorrow night when he's gone and hopefully get more listened! He has a CD drive! lol.

I listened to The Deal of a Lifetime *twice* last night. lol. I was distracted the first time around so I had to listen to it again. Only 45 minutes long so it was easy. lol.
I started Lincoln in the Bardo audio last night. HOLY CRAP CONFUSING! Then my hold came in for Etiquette & Espionage audio this morning so I'm setting aside Lincoln. May still get to it this year but probably not.

I finally finished readingNoli Me Tángere last night. It's one of those books that's very hard for me to connect, but I'm glad I finished it after a couple of months. Now, I can focus solely on The Stand. I'm 24% done and hopefully, I will be reading a lot during the 3-day weekend. Happy Holidays everyone!
This past week I've finished The Last One, The Name of God is Mercy (on audio), and A Christmas Carol (on audio), plus enough comics to reach my ultimate goal of 150 for the year!Still working on that library goal. Right now I'm in the middle of Little Fires Everywhere.
I finished All the Broken Places yesterday and finished Virtuosity this morning.
Almost done with Because It Is My Blood.
I started Etiquette & Espionage audio yesterday and started reading On Her Own Two Wheels this morning.
Merry Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas Eve!
Merry Christmas Eve, all. I’m planning to finish The Silver Chair this afternoon so that I can begin my perfect Jolabokaflod book, In the Midst of Winter by Isabel Allende, tonight. This is the second (I think) year that Dawn Michelle and I have exchanged Jolabokaflod books. I have my new pjs and some hot cocoa all ready to go!
Merry Christmas!Today I finished Little Fires Everywhere, which means I'm one away from meeting my final goal.
Made today a reading day and made it through 206 more pages of A Conjuring of Light, meaning I have less than a hundred pages left!

Did you end up liking Under the Banner [I am WAY behind in catching up with people's reviews]? There was a lot of information [which made me just want to dig for more; on a side note, I have read several books about the wives of the LeBaron brothers who were in Mexico and that is what led me to this book. ALL of it is freaky-deaky stuff], but it was all, imo, pertinent.
The Shack was controversial because "OMG HOW CAN YOU HAVE GOD PORTRAYED AS A WOMAN" <--To which I continually and perpetually ROLLED. MY. EYES. I think I gave myself eyestrain from that time period. It is an amazing book and I still recommend it to people.
I do not, for one minute, regret walking away from that Stephen King book.
Joy, I really loved it. It was a hard book to get into, but it eventually sucked me into one of those "where am I and what day is it?" reading trances.
So jealous of all the reading that people are getting done. I'm looking forward to joining in this weekend.
This morning I finished Woman at 1000 Degrees, an amazing ARC from NetGalley. It is my 100th book, which is by far the most in a yeAr since I’ve been keeping track (2006). It would be a great place to call it a wrap, but I will probably finish one more.
Total wasted day off yesterday. :( :( I couldn't read or catch up on DVR because I had the stomach bug. I was couch-prone. It was an awful day. So mad!! I have one niece and 2 nephews sleeping over tomorrow so not a lot of reading time there either.

I didn't end up liking UtBoH. Too much information. It bogged me down. I ended up skimming the second half.
That's some dumb controversy. lol. God is whoever we individually want/need to be.

Elyse, hope you’re feeling better! Enjoy the kiddos - maybe you can have a reading party with them 😉
So far I have managed to finish 3 audio books and 1 kindle book. I did get 6 books for Christmas that are now calling to me, lol.
Finished another one today - The Worst Thing I've Done. It was okayish...lol Speed listening to A Week in Winter which is good so far. I'm hoping I can finish it tomorrow but I'm working a 12 hour day.
My challenge list was off from my log so I also spent some time figuring that out tonight. It took two books off of my total bringing me back down to 102...ughh I don't think I'm going to get through 23 books in 4 days..lol Try as I might!

But you hit 100, nice!
But you hit 100, nice!
My last goal for the year is to finish the 4 books I'm currently reading:
Etiquette & Espionage audio - 75% done (3 hrs 20 minutes left)
Room - 16% done
The Music Shop - on page 31
The Witches of Eastwick - on page 11
Which will bring me to 178 books read this year!

After finishing two books in two days, I took a bit of a break yesterday and played with my 2018 plans/lists. I would like to finish my current book, In the Midst is Winter by Isabel Allende, and an ARC, The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce, by the end of 2017. It will be a crunch, but we like it that way, right? 😉
Finished
! Meaning I've finally finished the ABC Challenge! Now I've got a few reading days for just whatever! :)
I am 53% (page 708 of 1348 pages) done with The Stand and I have 3 more days to finish reading it. I think I can make it since I will be staying home most of the time this weekend and hopefully with no interruptions. So far, I'm enjoying the book. There are a few times when the story would drag a little bit but that's SK, the master storyteller.
Reading
right now as an extra 2017 read. I started it a few days ago. Might just be able to finish it this year too.
I finished #175 - Etiquette & Espionage! Woot hit my goal with a whole day to spare!

Woot you can do it!
I have 79 pages to go to finish my Jolabokaflod book, In the Midst of Winter. That will get done today. I’m also about halfway through my ARC, The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce. In a perfect world, I’d finish that one today too, but I never count on perfect
2 hours before 2018, I finally finished The Stand. It took me 2 weeks and one day. I gave it 5 stars. I enjoyed reading it although I was a little disappointed on how the battle between the good and evil ended. I guess I was expecting it to be more climactic but overall, it was a great read. I would highly recommend it.I'm very happy and proud I accomplished my goals and challenges for 2017 and looking forward to more gratifying challenges for 2018.
Happy New Year!
I finished my ABC Challenge books!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Irving)
The Witches of Eastwick (Updike)
Passager (Yolen)
I didn't finish The Music Shop but I intend to today.

Also, I've decided to save my reread of Vicious for when I have more time for it.
I've been in the mood for something light and Christmasy and short, so I'm picking up
