Very fun to read! Let me know what you think of Changeless once you do read it. I hope it's just as good as the first.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I just finished The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Wow! 5 stars. It was about the most unlikely combination; my mother & her book club suggested it, it's not my normal kind of read (the autobiography of a dog mixed with car racing) & it started off kind of cute. I can't believe how well it worked! Fantastic. If you haven't read it, please do!

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I read a lot of the paranormal-urban fantasy books & I agree that 'Vampire Academy' was one of the better ones.

Hey Natalee, Oh, I meant the series not just the first book. You'll love em - they are really, really good. You’ll probably finish them all just in time for the 5th book too, which is coming out in May :)

message 415: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) Weren't we going to have a small reading group discussion about "The Art of Racing in the Rain"? I'd like to, if anyone else is interested. I don't have many books in common with my mother & her buddies (Shelli & I do, though) & we all LOVED this book. I'd like to discuss & see what about it touched us all so much.

Stephanie, glad you enjoyed The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The next two are just as great, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I have about 100 more pages in the last one to read, and I can't wait to finish it. However, knowing that it is the last one is sad.

message 445: by Ivan (new)

Ivan A Search for the King by Gore Vidal What an absolutely terrific adventure novel. The story of Blondel and his search for Richard Coeur-de-Lion. Giants, warewolves, vampires, dragons, unicorns, horny women, pretty men, battles, singing and even Robin Hood - this novel is one of the best, most entertaining and completely enthralling I've ever read. A treat and a pleasure from the first page to the last. I'd love for some Hollywood type to rediscover this "lost" Vidal novel and make a great film of it.
