I'm currently trying to get through a slate of Australian romances I bought when they were on sale for something like $0.09 and $0.04 a piece. I only bought 6, read 1.

Was the one you read worth $0.50?I just requested the last two books I need to read to complete the challenge. Feels like a special moment.
I'm not a tea drinker either. But when I was, the first time I was given Earl Grey I spat it out. Thought someone had left washing up liquid in the cup...

Not. Even.

Orlok wrote: "I'm not a tea drinker either. But when I was, the first time I was given Earl Grey I spat it out. Thought someone had left washing up liquid in the cup..."Lol. I'd rather suck on the washing up rag. I just haven't acquired a taste for the somewhat dusty feeling it leaves on the tongue.
MrsJoseph wrote: "LOL!Have yall tried it with milk?"
Yes, it was with milk. Actually I did acquire a taste for it later, but these days I only drink coffee or Rooibos (which isn't actually a tea).
I drink coffee mostly. But I've tried to get into tea for health reasons. I think most tea tastes like boiled grass.
I used to make a pot of tea every day, I need to restart that daily ritual. The best Earl Grey I've had was... I can't remember the brand, but it also had rose and citrus in it, and while you could still taste the bergamot and it was definitely recognizable as an Earl Grey, it didn't have that distinctive aftertaste that turns a lot of people off of it.
Dazrin - a little help? I've screwed up my Replaced Categories section on the spreadsheet. I removed one, hoping it would revert to the original on the Bingo Boards and I now have a #REF! error...
Fixed, just needed to delete that last value that was still there. To go back to the original on the board you need to re-type it in on that board over the new category you added.
Great spreadsheet and great support. It's like the Twilight Zone of computer technology.Managed to remove one book from my need to read list (I'll probably read it anyway) by finding another book for cover=food. So I've managed to get cover=pruple which was troublesome. Only one more cover category to go.
I have to say, this audio book "genre" is killing me! Audios aren't genres so each of my audios covers a different genre that I cannot use! UGH. And I don't read a lot of audio and am forcing myself through one right now just for this challenge.AND I've hit my change allowance.
uuuggghhhhh!
Audiobook was one of the first ones I changed because I don't listen to them. Is there another that you changed that you can revert back to free up a change?
Christa wrote: "Audiobook was one of the first ones I changed because I don't listen to them. Is there another that you changed that you can revert back to free up a change?"Good point, you are allowed to change them back :)
I'm really focused on a different challenge i'm doing, but that will be finished at the end of the month. I'm hoping that I'll get more of the bingo challenge done after that as it's not always possible to combine the 2.
For covers you added "coffee/tea" but got rid of "food or drink", why don't you use the coffee/tea book for food or drink instead? That will give you one back.
Yep, you can revert. Just type the original text in on one of your changed ones on the Bingo cards. It works great. I had origianlly pegged some categories as I need to change this and then I ended up reading something to fit it.I just found a reasonably short audiobook and listened to 30 minutes a day. I didn't particularly enjoy it though. My hobbies (guitar, piano) don't facilitate listening to books and two year olds don't help that either.

:D Long drives in the car for work are where I get my audiobooks in. I read so much faster than audiobooks that I can't handle them unless I am unable to read. When I am unable to read (driving) I find a good "light" audiobook helps me stay focussed and more alert while driving.

And then there was one. One category left.Who, What, When, Where, Why in the title
I've requested the book, it has shipped, but it hasn't shown up yet.
Dazrin wrote: "Finally a mega-board Bingo! 90 pts now."Woohoo! Mega-board was a serious slog to get the first bingo.
Sorry I've been absent lately, but one of my group reading challenges was taking all of my time. It finished May 1, and I must say I'm kinda relieved. Now I can focus on my personal (and frankly more important ;)) challenges.I'll be more around now, and able to update the sheet accordingly. :)
We understand. Some of us have disappeared for extended periods of time while life goes crazy. Welcome back.
Done, I'm done!!!And my brain is flashing to the scene in Cars where Mater is saying "he's done" and the road looks like trash.

And in this group... well, I've disappeared for a bit at least every other year or so... :D Congrats on finishing up that challenge and getting back to your personals!

Congrats!!! That's awesome!

And focusing on the Bingo instead :)
Welcome back!
I'm looking forward to reading whatever the h-e-double-hockey-sticks I want. Haha. Not that I wasn't doing that, but I can now read some countries that were definitely not fitting in with the challenge.
Could this be considered a micro-history: The Purity Myth: How America's Obsession with Virginity is Hurting Young Women
RE: Micro-Histories:I also have:
Half-Real: Video Games Between Real Rules and Fictional Worlds
Publics and Counterpublics
How to Suppress Women's Writing
Perspectives On The African Diaspora
AND:Doctor Who: The What, Where, and How
Reading the Romance: Women, Patriarchy, and Popular Literature
None of those are screaming micro-history to me, but then I knew I wasn't going to read one and killed that category pretty early in the year.Sure you can't find an author under 30 or a book that became a movie? Those would be easier than micro-history and then you can read something more fun or call it sociology which is where a lot of your books seem to be leaning to me.

So, I read a book about a webseries - would that count?
Authors ages are hard. They are often not given or not truthful so I gave up
I saw you have a Mercy Thompson book on your list, I believe they were turned into a movie/TV series. That would free up a change too.edit: Fan made movies count, right? Sorry, I think that is that I had seen.
Heh. Got something: http://www.patriciabriggs.com/Patty/a...
Patty was born in Butte, Montana, back in 1965. If you’re good at math, you’ll have deduced that she’s currently twenty-nine. In fact, she’s been twenty-nine for a while and has no intention of getting any older. Fiction authors don’t obey the laws of space and time, they invent them. Don’t argue, or she’ll make up a dragon right behind you . . .

Uh huh.
That is definitely one of the more entertaining author biographies I have seen though.
