SOLVED. YA Action: Brother and sister have to rescue kidnapped parents. [s]

In 2006, I read this trilogy about a brother and a sister who have to rescue their parents who were abducted by some government group, I think. They were scientists or something and had important information.

I remember one vivid scene where the kids are chasing the van which is speeding away with their parents. I think in the following books the kids are kidnapped.

I think it was published somewhere around 2006 because it was very "with the times." I also know the author had several really good YA books that I read.

I'm pretty sure they lived in a suburb, and the siblings were both junior high age. I can't remember much more after that.

Gordon Korman's On the Run series? The parents are unjustly imprisoned rather than kidnapped, but it otherwise fits.

He also has a series called Kidnapped, which may be confusing the issue. And he does have some very good YA novels too.
