Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I finished Ask Again, Yes and began reading the new book by Gloria Goldreich, Guests in August. While this author has always been a favorite, this book isn't going all that well. The premise is that 5 families with children, who live throughout the US., meet every year in August at an inn to vacation, In order to set the stage, the first chapter introduces us to no less than 15 names. I was so confused that I wrote down the different families for future reference. Now, I'm wondering how the rest of this book will be. I think it's rather predictable.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) a favor - I know that many of you enjoy posting the covers of the books you have read or are reading. But it's difficult for those of us who are older and whose eyesight is not the best. Please type out the titles.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I began reading A Dangerous Place, the 11th book in the Maisie Dobbs series. But after 50 pages I decided to put this book down. I picked up Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer. And while it started out well, halfway through, it’s going downhill.

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments I am still reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. It has taken me all month. Hopefully, I'll finish this week.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I finished Truths I Never Told You by Kelly Rimmer and regret to tell you I gave this book two stars. Considering this book dealt with post partum depression, it went downhill to include some really bizarre events.

This morning I began The 13th book in the Maisie Dobbs series written by Jacqueline Winspear. I haven’t had too much time to read since I was involved with other things today. Hope I get to read before bed.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I hope this doesn’t give me a whole new mantra, but for the second time this week, I llisted my most recent Maisie Dobbs book as a DNF.I’m not sure what’s happening, although I am sure that I will go back to these books at another time. So, I spent the better part of last evening trying to find a book to read. I finally settled down with The Glittering Hour by Ione Sky. Things going the way they are, I would hate to descend to my book doldrums. Hopefully this book will provide me with an awesome read.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) The Glittering Hour wasn't doing it for me so I once again put this book down. I then decided to try and read a Daniel Silva book featuring his wonderful character Gabriel Allon, art restorer and Israeli spy. I was up to the 16th novel in this series but was told by some that the book was very political. And quite frankly I'm not in the mood since our tv is set to CNN 24/7. So in a rare act, since I read everything in order when there is an order, I picked up the 17th title, House of Spies, and got into this title immediately. It feels so good to get into a novel and look forward to reading it.
