Leann | 4 comments this is book written by a man working at the zoo, maybe the son of the founder, it describes daily life , it is in the midwest ( detroit?) (Cinncinati?).
because they talk about moving the alligators once it is cold and they are in an inanimate state, to a storage area under the lion cages. I am sure it is set before the 1960s.

It's a Wild Life: How My Life Became a Zoo (2014) by Bud DeYoung turned up while searching, but appears be too recent. The zoo is located in Michigan and has been open to public since 1988.

Leann, around what year did you read this book? (Noted the time period of the story is before the 1960s.)

This is an autobiography, not fiction?
