It is. I'm already planning the next one, but for now I'm planning on cleaning up things for the group and get things organized and finish reading the book that I picked out for the month. I mean in the first few pages there is a death already and it's like woah didn't actually see that coming.

message 53: by [deleted user] (new)

I haven't picked up that book yet. I have to finish like 4 more books this month to finish my yearly goal. Lol. And most of the are audiobooks!

Ghost in the Stacks Hey everyone, I am new. Working on setting up my goals for 2019. Can anyone point me in the right direction for your 2019 challenges!

Thanks!

Ghost in the Stacks I see a lot of 2018 challeges, are these going to transfer over to 2019, or are there going to be some 2019 challenges posted?

We are working to revamp our board and starting anew, Abbie! So We haven't set anything up yet. But you can expect a book of the month for January. We will let you know about anything else in a January 2019 Newsletter that should be coming soon!

Well the first book the group is going to be reading is Mortal Engines (Mortal Engines Quartet #1) by Philip Reeve . As for me that's probably also going to be the first book I read of 2019.

The plan was to try and revive but with the virus it's just kind of here right now. I check on things occasionally to see if anyone post things but it's been a bit hit or miss it seems. I would love to try and revive it but it's just with the kids school being done at home right now it's been a bit hectic.

I'm happy to hear that! Have you ready anything good lately?

I just finished The Iron King and it was just okay for me. It could be that I'm not in the mood for the fae though. I'm sure I will re-read it a month from now or a couple of years from now and love it. haha Have you ever done that? I have. I'm in a making connections group and I had the pleasure to read Dyrwolf . It was good. I can't wait to read the next book. The author may be giving free copies out - I'm not sure, but it was good. I just bought Prudence and will probably start that series next. I love Gail Carriger. I have read her other two series and took a break from her just because I was in the mood for something different. It's been a few years since I've read her other series so I figure I'm probably ready to read her again.

I read Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows by Balli Kaur Jaswal and was really surprised by how much I liked it. I loved the Iron King. I have read most of Julie's books, but didn't like her last series too much so I haven't read it past the first book. Other than that I have been reading a lot of thrillers.

I might try to read the Iron Fey again sometime. It seemed like a book I would normally like, but for whatever reason I just wasn't into it.

I have that problem for the last several months. Books that should appeal to me don't. I am pretty much stuck in one genre right now with a few exceptions.

I'm pretty sure you've told me this before! Okay. I'm back to reading one of my favorite authors again and loving it. I don't know why I have stayed away from her for so long lol

I am reading everything. I just read Beautiful Disaster and I am reading Walking Disaster now. I never picked the up originally because I just wasn't there for it.

It has been tough with the kids being home. I haven't had a lot of time to do much of anything lately. it's been rough. I read at night and usually regret it the next morning because I stay up all night reading.

I wish I was stuck on a particular genre but I am all over the place it seems.

That sounds like the most fun though! Switching things up! I'm sorry things have been hard on you. I wish I could help out! Alas we are in this together though :) I love Beautiful Disaster! I have read it so many times. Travis Mad Dog Maddox <3 I have not read the rest of the series because I don't like spin offs or reading about different characters than the original characters lol I know it's crazy.

I'm reading Prudence (The Custard Protocol, #1) by Gail Carriger which is basically a spin off from The Parasol Protectorate Boxed Set Soulless, Changeless, Blameless, Heartless and Timeless by Gail Carriger . I love this author. She is amazing. I have read two series by her and they're all set in the same world - she is the only exception that I have read spin-offs.

Anyways, I hope things get better for you. I'm happy you're safe though. And I can relate to staying up too late reading and regretting it the next day!

This is off subject but do ya'll ever watch Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist? It is amazing...I'm so obsessed over it and so sad that tomorrow is the last episode of the season :( If you haven't watched it I suggest you give it a try. It's really amazing.

That sounds familiar...what is falling kingdoms? Oh i love beagles... they're adorable. Yes celebrate finals being over! I know i will...one more test and I'm free!

message 87: by [deleted user] (new)

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes is about these three kingdoms and 1 kingdoms takes over so it is up to the rebels and princess Cleo to stop the tyrant king. Very good series, and it is told in multiple POV which is very interesting.

I did actually. The kiddos picked out a present each for me a few days before hand and they ordered them so now they are in the mail. I think it's cute and can't wait to see what they picked out.

R.J. Abell | 682 comments aw that is adorable! I know you will cherish whatever it is you get!

anyone reading or read anything exciting lately? I may or may not be heading to a reading slump and if this is a case this really blows because I haven't been in much of a reading mode in a while.

I am still struggling to get back into reading. Usually since I started working I haven't had as much time to read and now since I have been off I haven't picked up the pace I was at before going back to work. I started Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1) by Amie Kaufman yesterday I am kind of excited because I loved their last collaboration. My mood is very hit or miss too. I think in some ways I am in a bit of a slump.

I'm not familiar with that book. Yeah, I know I am for sure in a slump bc I love Gail Carriger but I'm just not into this series. I usually burn through books and especially if I love them, but it is taking me forever to read one book. I just finished Prudence (The Custard Protocol, #1) by Gail Carriger and now I've started the second book Imprudence (The Custard Protocol, #2) by Gail Carriger and I'm just not excited about it. It has nothing to do with the book or author because Gail is fabulous! It's def me heading into a reading slump and I hate them!

It's the new one by Amie Kaufman and Jay (ugh forget his last name) they did the Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman (that trilogy is fantastic)
Yes I keep running out of time on my check outs and have to rush and read several books in a couple of days which usually results in me setting aside one of them because I am not just not in the mood for it.

I will cherish them. They are adorable. I've seen them. I'm excited to get them. They are adorable.

I hate the reading slump. I've been suffering through my own. However, I've been buying books and they are making me want to read again. I've finally finished Walking Disaster. I'm reading Restore Me (Shatter Me, #4) by Tahereh Mafi . I'm getting through it pretty fast so maybe I cam coming out of my own slump.

I want to read this so bad. I'm thinking about purchasing it soon. I may have to go with the kindle version of it though for the time being because the hubs is getting laid off in a few weeks.

Oh no I am sorry to hear about your husband. I borrowed it from the library and I enjoyed it, but I didn't love it as much as Illuminae but I also listened to that whole trilogy on audio and thought it was fantastic so I may try the audiobook one day to see if I like it.

He got told if they didn't have to lay him off they wouldn't but sadly they have to and of course he is the only one who was told that they would call him back when the building reopens. They hope by September.

I saw it on Amazon for 1.99 so I might grab it. I enjoyed Illuminae a lot. Granted I don't usually do a lot of ebooks because I like a real book in my hands but I'll do what I can to keep reading.
