Here in the General Chat we can talk about anything. Children. Pets. Husbands. Wives. School. Etc. Etc. Etc. Please keep it PG-13. While we do not have children in the group I would like us to keep it clean. I, Andrea, for one have a child who reads and likes to look over my shoulder a lot and read the things he sees on my computer. So please keep this in mind.

*Please do not use foul language. You will be warned once and if it happens again then you be removed from the group.
*Please respect all members in the group. If you have a problem with another person in the group please come to a moderator with your problem. Do not broadcast it in the group. You will be warned once. A second offense will result in removal.
*If you need to vent please post VENT at the beginning of your post. I know everyone needs someone to vent to every so often. Like myself sometimes I find it hard to vent to my husband when it comes to a book and you just need to find someone who has read that book as well that understands your frustration with the book.

OMG, I am that parents... The one that waits until the last minute to wrap presents. My kids get out of school next week for the holidays and I had planned to wrap presents this week. Nope didn't happen. I stalled and stalled and stalled. Here it is Friday and I have a company Christmas party for next week on Monday... Christmas Parties at school on Tuesday and I may not even send the kids to school on Wednesday for half a day. Not worth it... Ugh now they may go just so I can wrap presents.

I've got some catching up to do. I went to the store this morning for more tape and bought more things than I meant to but they were stocking stuffers.

I didn't finish wrapping until the 23rd so I was way behind this year!

Ugh, I finished wrapping at around 3 am on Christmas morning. I got to sleep until about 6:30 that morning. It's been a complete mess the last couple of days. My mother-in-law got really sick and went to the ER early Tuesday morning. She's much better now and they are releasing her from the hospital this afternoon.

Now, I'm just trying to clean. I figured I'd start with my room because well if my room is clean I figure if anything needs to come in here I don't have to add it to the small mess that I've already got but I'm planning to make this even take all day because I've also got to deal with my bookcases because of the fact that I've got to put books where they belong. I've got some books that I've finished reading that I need to put into their correct spaces. Since I keep my unread and read separated. It helps me remember what I've read and what I haven't read.

So I'm just pretty much wasting time today. I figure these things can wait until after the new year starts. lol. So I've fiddled with the one bookcase already. It's all of our previously read books that I haven't had the opportunity to read or bought after the fact. Then all the books that I've currently started. I need to clean off all of my other bookcases too.

I decided to just pause for the evening. I've spent the day today taking down all of the Christmas decorations that we have. We meant to do it yesterday and it didn't happen and I don't remember why. But we know that we needed to get it done today and then I've been doing laundry like a crazy person today because I won't be doing it tomorrow and the same with the dishes. Well I haven't been doing dishes all day I've only had to do one load but still that one load needed to get done tonight.

The husband will be cooking today. I'm so thrilled for that. They say what you do on New Years is what you will do a lot of throughout the year. I know he won't do all the cooking this year because of him working but hey a girl can dream. I've already been reading so that means I'll be doing a lot of that this year. And I've spent some time here so it means plenty of time here as well!

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

All are great things to be doing this new year. I have been reading, and on here, playing a game and watching youtube! Safe to say my new year should be a relaxing one!

Yes, very relaxing. I have also been busy telling my children to clean up their room so I guess I'll be doing that all year too.

I am excited about reading it. I am doing okay, been busy this summer and trying to not be a big baby as my oldest prepares to leave for college more hours away from me than I am comfortable. Reading has been hit or miss for me this summer. More meh then blown away.

Ryan M (raneymarie) | 89 comments How is Everyone? I have been good, just busy all summer. My hip decided to start acting up so I am back in PT and getting it x-rayed this week to make sure nothing serious is going on. Crazy how this summer has just flown on by! Today was the first day of school here in Alaska. I can't believe my girl is a Junior in HS already! Reading has been on and off all summer, I tend to go on binges from the free e-books I load onto my Kobo account, lol. Now that the school year has started I'll probably make my way back to the library and of course, once winter hits, that's the best time to curl up with a good book and something warm to drink. Well I hope all of you have had a great summer so far! :)

I won't lie I've been dealing with some anxiety issues. I've pretty much just stopped doing a lot of things. However, I'm trying to get back into a flow of things. It's slow going honestly at the moment but I'm trying to get my mood perked back up. It's just been one thing after another though and I'm just always tired and stressed out. I just try to keep my calm and I've been watching a little girl in the afternoon who is in the same grade as the oldest one because she lives in the neighborhood. I have been trying to get back into reading. The anxiety has been making it impossible for me to enjoy any reading though, to be honest. It's been just a complete rollercoaster ride of my emotions. I've been trying to deal with it without going to see someone and now I'm finally caving and I'm going and I'm kind of anxious about going to someone about it and so that's kind of making my anxiety flare up right now and it's just a complete mess right now. I promise I'm going to try to start being a little active again. However, I've given thought to close this group and start us up a new one that way we can be active through that one rather than trying to revive this one. It might be harder to revive this one than just starting fresh with a new group.

Honestly, I could be much better. I've been trying to get things settled into my routine because of kids starting school and because of keeping one extra child in the afternoons. It's just been a bit of stress riddle moments the last several months. It's just been one thing after another really since the end of school last year. I've been trying to keep my sanity though lol. I'm spending a lot of time just trying to get some reading though.

I'm sorry you aren't doing so good. I hope you don't shut this group down...but if you have to, I understand - I don't want you to be stressed out.

I was in a serious accident this August and I'm in a lot of pain. Right now I can't bare weight...but im hoping it'll get lifted. My medicine makes me not really want to read or write. I have been reading but I'm disconnected - most likely the meds.

Anyways, I will miss a few of you if this group shuts down.

I am sorry Andrea, I didn't see your post. I am sorry you are so stressed. I hope you are doing okay. I second R.J. I miss you all! Don't shut the group down. please.

Oh no R.J. I am so sorry, I will keep you in my thoughts and hope you can connect with reading and writing soon.

I finally got a job in October so I have been subbing for the school system here. So I am a lot busier than I was. I quit DFT but still review for my friend's blog. It is a lot less stress when it comes to reading since I can pick what I review. My son will be done with his first semester at UVA in Dec, but won't be coming for Thanksgiving so that makes me sad. I miss him a lot. Other than that I am doing better than I was.

Congrats on the subbing job! And for getting to read/review what you want!

Why won't your son come home? That's so sad, I hate that for you. I love my family, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be! I am excited for your new beginnings ...new jobs are exciting because it's a fresh start and you feel like anything can happen.

Thanks I am so happy to be a sub, and to pick what I want to read and review.

We don't have enough money, it was expensive for a couple of days and since he has to come home in Dec since the dorms are closed we figured it would just be easier. I hate it too, but hopefully it will the last year that this has to happen. My husband has got a number of pay increases and now that I am working, plus we have a number of things paid off in the next few months so I am trying to think on the positive side but it does suck. It is my first major holiday without him.

Thank you I feel the same way. It has taken a ton of stress off me and I can tell in most of relationships that I am feeling better now that I am working.
