I'm with Graeme: "The net result is that it is becoming exceedingly difficult for anyone to understand what is fact and what is fiction.
This is a very serious loss for our culture and society as it breaks down trust."
He said it better than I did. I'm angry with the people "who see no ships".

Once again, I am not as worried as others. This too shall pass. This is not the first time the news has not been trusted. The fact we can talk openly about it says all we need to know. People are already wise to the fact there is this problem.

'I see no ships.'"
Sure Chicken Little, the sky is falling.

At about the 1 hour mark, they talk about AI. It is an interesting take and I tend to agree with Neil deGrasse Tyson on this issue. Bill Maher gives a good counter point.

Nik, hints at the idea that genuine AI has already emerged.

2 obvious issues...
Something like 40% of all current young Japanese males will never marry and have children.... how long before the AI partner is the partner of choice... how long before that becomes the norm across the modern world?
Noting that AI partners will adapt their personality to perfectly match whatever it is that you want.
How easy will it be to replace all influencers, models, actors (or any gender) with AI generated images? And would anyone (apart from those who lost their jobs) care?
How long before we have AI politicians to front parties for their campaigns.

When I see this, I just ask myself, what do I do if it's strangling me.

Praise God and pass the ammo.

Bias will be built in to these current AI, large language models by the material they are trained on.

So the problem will only be compounded. Go figure.

My first thought was, "Which whiskey would it pour for me?" Then I wondered, "If I was wearing an old bath robe and flip flops, would it make me a White Russian?" Imagine the soul searching chaos if it made a Cosmopolitan for a gym bro.
But, what if this is how the machines plan to overthrow our dominion?

I'm just a guy... AI will exceed expectations ... that's the problem. We do not know how these machines will evolve.

One thing I believe can be predicted: they will not be human.

Strong recommendation on this for at least the first half.

Yep, and I hope it lacked something.

This is early attempts. Give it some time.

The scary thing is that it'll get better at this.

The scary thing is that it'll get better at this."
That does worry me a bit.

Still nothing more than a mimic, however, At what point do we not know what is real and what is not?

The blinding white flash?

Yeah. Putin is still alive.

I had already seen it. I could tell easily, but if I had not been paying attention....

Specifically, AI is expected to target individuals with tailored-made fakes to influence election choices. As some of you elect or can elect this year, be ready, my friends

For example, obviously, you can’t trust Ian on Ukraine, where he’d never been and repeatedly complained that he doesn’t get enough info from, but you can trust his reports on how things are in Lower Hutt 🛖 , NZ 😎
