Once again, I am not as worried as others. This too shall pass. This is not the first time the news has not been trusted. The fact we can talk openly about it says all we need to know. People are already wise to the fact there is this problem.

I've got to admit, as Americans, we haven't exactly trusted the news since Mr. Clements pointed out that if you didn't read the papers then you were ignorant, yet if you did, then you were misinformed. Human bias is in everything. You have to control that. Even with the AI situations, the human bias seems to be a bit more of the progressive strands of thought from America.

Something like 40% of all current young Japanese males will never marry and have children.... how long before the AI partner is the partner of choice... how long before that becomes the norm across the modern world?
Noting that AI partners will adapt their personality to perfectly match whatever it is that you want.
How easy will it be to replace all influencers, models, actors (or any gender) with AI generated images? And would anyone (apart from those who lost their jobs) care?
How long before we have AI politicians to front parties for their campaigns.

It still has to interpret what it reads, and I rather suspect that a lot of dated knowledge that has never been entered in computer form would be omitted.
There are agencies and firms doing "digitalization" of paper into electronic form, but it's hard to evaluate the scope

In science, a problem is the bias of the author. The author likes to highlight how (s)he confirmed the current paradigm, and will often include some other information that the author does not know what it signifies. It is there, but only just. Yet for proper understanding of some other problem, that information might be critical. The problem for AI is to assess the likely relevance of the material that is there almost as an aside

I'm just a guy... AI will exceed expectations ... that's the problem. We do not know how these machines will evolve.

People already have enough to deal with in real life. The brakes need to be put on AI, but it can only be done with government intervention and enforcement, and the government isn't dealing with controlling AI and its applications, despite warnings from Musk and others. We will no longer be able to judge for ourselves what is real: this means that we lose all control over our lives because we no longer trust our judgement. Someone/thing will be in charge, but it won't be us. We in this group will no longer be able to have political discussions because we won't know what's real and what's not. How to discuss when the foundation is no longer stable? This will tear us apart.
We still have some first source info left. The group was founded in pre-AI times and I trust veteran members to be human or extraterrestrial not artificial. For example, obviously, you can’t trust Ian on Ukraine, where he’d never been and repeatedly complained that he doesn’t get enough info from, but you can trust his reports on how things are in Lower Hutt 🛖 , NZ 😎
