Introduce Yourself to the Group - 2018

Thanks Susy! Definitely looking at Harper Lee reads among others in the coming months :)

Stumbled across this group after receiving a Kindle as a farewell gift. LOVE IT! I have returned to reading after too long. I have never entered a reading challenge before. I'm looking forward to the many adventurous stories to get lost in. A nice way to escape real life for a while....

Hi Brad welcome to the group I am so happy you decided to join us! I love my kindle so I completely get your enthusiasm How many books will you be trying to complete this year. Do you have a favorite book you have finished. I hope to see you join a challenge or ten. Look around if you have questions please ask. I hope you enjoy your book escape and happy reading!

i luv to read all kinds of fiction and is specially interested in history, politics, philosophy and spirituality in non foction categories.
I read in English and in Hindi.
At the day time I am in my office and so I read at night and in the mornings. My challenge for myself is 50 books in 2018 and I hope I will enjoy that with u guys.

My name is Kat. I am originally from Miami, FL. but moved to NYC almost 2 years ago. The last year I went into a kick where I read a lot of memoirs, biographies/autobiographies, thriller, psychological dramas. Some of my favorites include Girl, Interrupted., Go Ask Alice, Tuesdays with Morrie, My Year with Eleanor. But I've recently been wanting to branch out from the dark reads and have been looking for more reads in the genres of motivational fiction, YA novels, summer reads, etc.
I found out about this group through the GoodReads Community page. It's actually my first time joining any sort of reading book so I'm very excited to hear about everyone's favorite reads and suggestions. :) I've been in a major book slump and haven't been able to finish any of the books I've picked up, so I haven't really started my reading goal, but I hope to read a minimum of 35 books this year. I've just lookedinto the Must Read Books Quarterly Challenge and hope to start with some of those this quarter (though I know I am a little behind already lol).
Looking forward to interacting with you all!

Thanks Susy! I actually joined in on the A to Z challenge - looks like fun! I think that will get me looking at books I might not otherwise while still giving me the flexibility I need to keep me happy. Hmm, maybe I should think about doing a fiction and a nonfiction list...

Sounds good! Have fun Karen! (there’s also a nonfiction challenge....)

Thank you for making this group!

I am Lily, Parisian book blogger on Instagram and still novice on Goodreads ! But I am glad to get to join your community, see your recommendations and point of views on your readings ! I don't have a one precise preferred book type, but - depending on my reading mood - I'll go for historical romance, inspiring nonfiction, but most of all : classics !
Looking forward to discussing with you and having more friends in the community !

Hi Stacey, welcome to the group! That is quite some goal you have there! Will you be joining on any of the challenges this group has to offer to help you reach your goal?
Anyways, have fun!! And if you have any questions, just let us know!

I'm from Norway.
Everything! You can always learn something new.
I've been fairly active on GoodReads, but I haven't joined any groups until just now. I clicked on 'groups' to see if there were any groups that intrigued me.
My reading goal is an odd number. I've set my goal for this year at 52 books. I'm about to finish book number nine.

Thank you, Susy. I'm active, but I rarely ever do anything other than updating my progress or adding new books to my list. I've decided to give other sides a shot as well. I don't use social media websites like Facebook, so I might as well make GoodReads my Facebook!
I'll have a look.
You too!

Hi Susy !! Thanks a lot for your kind words ! So far, I've only been used to posting reviews on Instagram, but I will certainly (and step by step, as I discover how Goodreads works actually as I am quite the newbie) participate in the group as well ! Looking forward to exchanging with you all ! Lily

Cool, looking forward to it!
In the welcome message you’ve received when you joined the group, there’s a link to some info on how GR works. And of course info on the important parts of this group. Have a look, if anything is not quite clear just give a shout!

I was born and raised in Arizona, I currently live in Phoenix and I am quite addicted to buying books. I am also fully aware that I do not read fast enough to keep up with my addiction. I also am pretty sure that my bookshelf hates me, as I insist upon adding more books than it can possibly hold.
When I was younger I was a little picky about what I read, I didn't like things that were too easy, so I often glazed over things meant for my own age. So, at the ripe old at of twenty-eight, I have a very eclectic range of books on my shelf. I love fantasy, high and dark, you name it, I love it. I also love horror and crime, sci-fi...I read almost a touch of everything. Except for maybe the trashy romance novels my mother read when I was little and I was scarred for life by at a tender young age because I had no idea what I was doing.
I am currently trying to read through my insane shelf, starting at the very first book and working my way through. While I know I am going to get derailed often, that's the goal. While my reading goal for the year is twenty at the current moment, it will probably change depending on how my reading habits go this year.
Anyways! Hi, I hope to get to know some of you lovely bookworms and actually make some friends on this site this year. I need people to obsess with...the man in the house doesn't understand. Send help, and bookmarks.

Welcome Everyone to the group we are so happy to have you join us. We have so many things to do I promise you can spend hours looking around and still not be done.
Ketty I completely understand your addiction because I load my kindle up and my bookshelf is overflowing. I however have the perfect challenge for you. The Clear the Shelf Challenge.
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Happy clearing and happy reading!

Hi Ketty, welcome to the club! My main goal this year was to clear all the dust bunnies on my book shelves, not buying more books until I had read them all. So what did I do last Thursday? I bought 15 new books.... 15!! (and I'm quite a slow reader myself so...) On top of that they gave me 1 free book, so I've added 167 new books, having cleared 6 old dust bunnies....
I love fantasy, high and dark, you name it, I love it. I also love horror and crime, sci-fi...I read almost a touch of everything. Except for maybe the trashy romance novels my mother read when I was little
Hahaha, same here!

Lol, looking forward to your updates and your reviews & to obsessing over books with you!

Hi Stephanie, welcome to the group! Glad you decided to join us. I think reading is a perfect escape, I just love to immerse myself completely in the story, forgetting everything around me. If you love books made into movies you might like our Challenge for March:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Just check it out, if it sounds good, don't hesitate to jump in.
In any case, I wish you lots of fun reading and discussing A Wrinkle in Time (and your other books as well of course)!

Hi Stacey, welcome to the group! Love a good mystery, thriller and fantasy myself. I also like scifi and am not averse to some horror :)
I use bookmarks too and LOVE buddy reads. Will you be joining any in March?
These are the planned buddy reads so far: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Hope to discuss some of them with you. In any case, wishing you lots of fun!

My name is Carrie and I'm from Ames, Iowa.
