We can color code our names if you want, lol, but I like it sorted in the letters of the word than sorting each reader together like theirs.
No, ours is fine. But thanks :). I did add the alternate column because I spend a lot of time going back through and reshuffling most weeks.
Sweet! No more of this three D, two L, two E nonsense. Well, ok, there's two O's and two R's, but still...I like the variety here :).Off to check my stack!
I'm about to start This Song Will Save Your Life by Leila SalesBased on the synopsis, there's characters Elise, Char, and Pippa that work for the list.
And it also works for the genre (if we need it).
Karen ♐ wrote: "Reading Because of Kian by Sibylla Mathilde Character: Evan"Forgot to mention, mine would also work for the genre.
Finished This Song Will Save Your Life.About to start On the Fence by Kasie West.
Main character is Charlotte (Charlie) Reynolds. I'll let you know if anything else works.
Sorry, I didn't get to finish Elmer Gantry. We sold our house but they want to move in in less than 3 weeks so we've been running around like crazy people trying to figure out where we'll live lol.I will save Elmer for a week when we can use him. I just started Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling. Main character is Harry Potter. Figure that one's good because it fits several places. I'll likely have more as the week progresses, but can't promise how helpful I'll be with everything that's going on.
Alrighty, I got you all added in :).Kaitlin- no worries! Finding a place to live is definitely more important than getting a book read! Hope you get it all worked out soon!
Currently reading Gates of Thread and Stone by Lori M. Lee. Characters: Avan, Reev
And I'm curious, do we get more points if we read more than one book that is the genre?
No unfortunately. I think it would be a game changer especially since we're like 300 points behind the leader.
Geez. I felt like we were doing so well! I looked at their thread and they're like crazy active. Oh well! Just keep swimming.
Corey- I agree, I think it would be a nice wrinkle to get extra points for more genre readings. Of course there was one poor team that got horror two weeks in a row... That would have been miserable! Sorry I haven't updated anything guys, but I've had a crazy hectic day. I want to try to finish my book tonight so I'll do the update in the morning if you all don't mind,
Finished Gates of Thread and Stone.Started reading To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I'll let you know what characters work later.
Here's your morning update :)We are almost done with our first round, as of right now we are missing N, O, R, and Y. Great job!
It seems some of the teams would like to extend this challenge further suggesting 5000 points. I personally do not think I could keep up this amount of reading for an additional 6-7 weeks, but if can voice our teams vote if you all have one, though I don't believe the suggestion has been considered by the mods at this point.
Personally, I wouldn't really be up for it. My kids are starting school on two weeks and things will get crazy then.
Finished To All the Boys I've Loved Before and some characters that fit are Peter, Margot, and Chris.
There is now discussion of extending it to the end of August with the goal of having the most points at that point, this will extend it by two more weeks. Is this agreeable?
I finished up Lola and the Boy Next Door. I'll do Sadie's Secret next as the author has a Y last name. That just leaves "O" to finish off our first round! I know this week's dragging a bit, but we can do this! Keep up the good work :)
I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling. How does she get children to read books that are 870 pages long??
I'm currently reading Servants of the Storm and the only thing that works is a character named Carly.EDIT: There's some really minor characters Nikki and Tamika.
I could only read this book this week so I apologize for it not fitting in.
The book I'm reading Hillbilly Rockstar has a character named Odette in case we still need the "O". There are other characters named Reg & Crash.
I am starting One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd which can work for O and it has a character May Dodd, and others that may fit, I'll update that part later.
Finished Servants of the Storm. Also finished Timeless by Alexandra Monir Characters: Michele, Philip

No worries! Read what you can and we will make it fit! ;) It's part of my job.

Awesome! I missed that character, so now we have tons of O's to work with.

I'm also reading Heated. Series: Most Wanted, Characters: Tyler Sharpe. If I find any other characters that work, I'll post them.
Been a week . : ) Starting with my internet messing up and jury duty but did get a lot read , hopefully internet will be fixed by saturday. Finished Afterparty and Gone Girl with characters Nick Dunne, Amy Elliot Dunne, Margo "Go" Dunne, Rand Elliot, Marybeth Elliot . Stand by Me with Avis Douglass and Kathryn Davies and Holidays Are Hell by Marjorie M. Liu and Vicki Pettersson
Very nice ladies! I'm out of the house, but I'll get these added when I get back.Kim- sorry to hear about your internet troubles! Hope everything gets straightened out for you soon.
Karen ♐ wrote: "I'm also reading Heated. Series: Most Wanted, Characters: Tyler Sharpe. If I find any other characters that work, I'll post them."Two more characters that would work: Cole August & Oscar
I finished Timeless.I also finished The Falconer by Elizabeth May. Character: Aileana
And I'm about to start Grim which is an anthology (I'm reading the entire thing). What are the rules for that? Could all of the authors count? All of the titles for the stories?
You can use the author that edited and put it together, and the name of the anthology. To use a story or specific author that story alone needs to meet the 160 page requirement.
Just want to check - I notice we have a "A Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery" filed under A. I thought we had to ignore A, An and The at the beginning. At least that's how it works in the library world. So that one would be good for a G, or my "A Tale for the Time Being" would work for T, but not for A.Thoughts? Sorry, it's the librarian in me.
I finished A Tale for the Time Being, which was AMAZING.
