For some reason it just says "Aug" on your shelf. Do you mind setting the day, please? Just don't want to get confused in later weeks when the mods are double checking. :) Thanks!

message 261: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Hi everyone, I'm playing a bit with the titles so for a bit the in thread post won't be accurate. Until I get everything sorted (sometime this evening) please refer to the Spreadsheet. Sorry to throw you off!

Currently I'm missing two D's and an R, but I can reshuffle things if needed, just let me know!

I tried and it still came up Aug don't know why

message 263: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Ok, I'll just throw a note in about that tomorrow when I post our weekly results. Thanks for checking, though!

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments I've read two books today.
The Truth About Alice by Jennifer Mathieu
Possible characters: Alice and Elaine

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
Possible characters: Gat and Mirren

message 265: by Kaitlin (new)

Kaitlin (kait-k) | 455 comments Jessica, how was We Were Liars? It's on my TBR list :)

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments Kaitlin wrote: "Jessica, how was We Were Liars? It's on my TBR list :)"

It screwed up my mind, confused the heck out of me, and made me cry, yet I still liked it? It's weird, but I actually liked the fact that this book messed me up.

That's what it says when the date is the first, just the month. I don't know why it does that, but just assume it is the first when that happens.

If you view the review it says the actual date read.

message 273: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Ok, thanks TC!

message 274: by Kme_17 (new)

Kme_17 | 453 comments ok thank you : ) reading the Afterparty by Daryl Gregory

message 275: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Good morning team! In an effort to make things easier on our mods, if you don't mind, would you all move your books read yesterday to either July 31 or today (August 2nd)? That will eliminate the problem with goodreads not showing the date. Thanks guys!

message 276: by Kme_17 (new)

Kme_17 | 453 comments finished Infinite Jest

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments Currently reading The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson. The series is called The Remnant Chronicles. Main character is Lia.
I'll let you know if anything else works!

message 278: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Finished Tell the Wolves I'm Home yesterday (marked 7/31) and just finished Allegiant, and can I just say "wtf?" I postponed it because of the response I saw from my friends, and now I understand why they felt that way. I enjoyed seeing the ending of the story, but my goodness.

Hahaha, I wondered what you'd think! Definitely crazy :)

message 280: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Yeah, I mean I like that the author was brave enough to make some controversial writing decisions, but I think she could have done it better, the ending just didn't feel right.

I agree, it felt like she wrote the ending just for shock value, rather than because it was actually called for in the story.

I found a slot for this, so just let me know as soon as you finish it :)

message 283: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Just a few more hours to get any last minute books in! :) We will find spots for whatever you've got, so throw them at me, lol!

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 396 comments I finished Kiss of Deception!
And that's it for me this week! I know I won't be able to read anything else before the deadline XD

No worries! Things happen :). Just save it for next week

haha! I'll get it updated. At this point I'm just anxiously awaiting the new word. I don't want to start something that won't fit! Oh the hazards of reading challenges, lol!

message 288: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Kaitlin- are you still working on Elmer Gentry or will that be a save for next week?

message 289: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments I just got the Last Hero on audiobook (sadly this weeks word made me want to check it out since I also sadly enjoyed Percy Jackson) so hopefully it will work for next week.

Don't say sadly! I loved it even with it being a middle grade. We don't judge for guilty pleasure reading, lol!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)

message 291: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments I don't know what team astronomers do for a living but they seem to have plenty of time to read.

message 292: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments wow, you aren't kidding! I've been pushing it the last few days to make up for the time I was gone, but I definitely won't be able to keep the same pace next week. At least we've been consistent so far!

Turtlecollector Dennis | 1164 comments Corey wrote: "I don't know what team astronomers do for a living but they seem to have plenty of time to read."

Maybe they are all retired(I'm not, but I only work 30 hrs/week). I pushed it by giving myself a mini-readathon this week to finish 12 books and all my other team members read more than they usually do in a week and we still only managed 38 books.

message 294: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Yeah I never read this much, I've been annoying a lot of people because I refuse to do much but listen to or read a book during my free time. My coworkers are asking if there's something wrong with me because I'm always wearing my headphones listening to a book whenever I have down time, lol.

message 295: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments I am seeing somethings I'd like to add to the spreadsheet, though... that "alternate letter" column that Team Hurricanes has would be really useful.

message 296: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments Yeah I didn't consider that, I wish I could read 12 books in a week. I think I should take next week off for vacation lol (I'm still in my probationary period at my job so that's wishful thinking).

message 297: by Corey (new)

Corey (coreyhuffman) | 389 comments I like the way team butterfly has theirs but haven't updated the spreadsheet to do something like it

message 298: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments I went to the library to get shorter books for this week. I don't care for that usually because that means I'm reading something that's not usually on my TBR list and therefore doesn't help me knock it down. But, you do what you have to in a challenge like this ;).

message 299: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments I don't know... I find their's a bit confusing. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on there. I forget which team it is, but there was one that was super-mega-color-coordinated. It was impressive.

message 300: by CassieV (new)

CassieV | 1196 comments Found it: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

It's Team Torchwood. Again, it took me a while to figure it out, but the colors are impressive :)
