Ok ladies, I've officially posted our results for week 3. Our amazing results are here: Team Hook - Week 3
Now I'm off for a little while but I'll come back later to check out our new genre.
wow, thoroughly impressive! Off to peek at results, and thank you guys SO much for helping me ad nauseum through my first week. lol I know I was a handful. ;) Jane, dying to know how Infernal Devices was! That's definitely high on my list.

our new genre is crime. I had some books I needed to get read & started 2. Both qualify for M. Moving Day & The Walk (Marty).

OOooh, the Cress books look divine. Gorgeous cover art. I'm finally giving in and reading Birdman. Wanted to wait for a group read, but dying to pick it up, and its crime genre. Might finish other titles before i do this one, though, since I've got a few in process for ARC reviews.

lol Joy, I got sucked in by that cover in a big way. Its kinda 'modern day Ripper' to me. And for some reason, GR persists in showing off a rather blah red one on that book. Speaking of epic, The Rock and The River looks pretty astounding. One of those life changing, heart wrenching reads.
Well, I had been working my way through this book for the past couple of weeks, and decided to finish it today! Small Group Leaders' Handbook: Developing Transformational Communities - It can count for either a C (author - Myron Crockett) or an M (author - Myron Crocket). He doesn't show up as first author, but this book was a collab with 7 authors.

I will see what I find but I am not very good at deciding beforehand what to read. I will just try and make my books fit as I read them.
@ Rachel. Infernal Devices to me wasn't that great. I have rated it a 3*** but it is a low one. I found it slow going and had a hard time concentrating on it.@ Kerry-Anne. Yes I didn't finish it till today. But well within the time limit for when the book had to be finished. (I was following the countdown)

Illicit Magic by Camilla Chafer That covers an 'I' and I have another 'I' lined up for this week.
Kerry-anne... Lucky you!!!! The 'Penryn and the End of Days' series is one of those I'd give just about anything to be able to read again for the first time. I luuurved em, full stop. Hope you do, too! And I'm curious what you think of '... Wallflower'. That's been on my 'to be read' list for ages. Jane... I'm a big fan of Steam powered Victoriana, and I had to write a short little 'intro to Steampunk' article for a zine a few years ago. I've wanted to read that Jeter since then, as that book pretty much coined the term 'Steampunk', from what I understand. But I've come to realize that just cause a book is an innovator doesn't necessarily make it a standout in its genre. Sounds like what happened with 'Infernal Devices'. Shame. I finished The Rock and the River, which I gave 3/5 stars. It was a good book--the author's language was just gorgeous. Next read: Inhuman, which obviously counts for an I. :)

Jane... bless you! I read a review of that Never Let Me Go a while back, fell in love with it, and then promptly lost track of title so I could read it later. ;) Thanks for posting so I could discover it again. I'm letting you ladies down heinously this week. Barely been able to pick up my 'for enjoyment' reading so far, but crossing fingers I'll do better from here out!
Don't stress out Rachel, it is a challenge, but mostly we have to enjoy what we read. :)I put down my first book for this week because I wasn't feeling in the mood to read it, so I pick another one up. Hopefully I'll get into the first one soon.
Aw, thanks, Juliana! I'm guilty of that constantly... starting a book (even a great one!) then abandoning it for another because i'm just not in right mind set for that particular book. As to my reading, or lack thereof.. I normally get through thousands of pages a week, but I'm in a weird position of trying to put together portfolios for both Line-editing and Cover Art so that I can hopefully start working with some independent self-published writers sooner or later. So when any opportunity for me to get into an editing gig (which I haven't done since a few years out of UCLA.. and I'm almost 40 now... so I'm out of practice! lol) or a design project, and that's gotta come before everything else. But even if I let you guys down this week, I know I'll make it up in future ones. ;)

@ Irene. Macaron Murders was okay, I don't read that many cosy mystery books but this was an easy quick read. I liked it.@ Rachel ( and Kelsi) no need to worry or apologise about the amount of books you read this week. If we stick to rules we only had to commit to reading one book a week for this challenge.That we all have gone a bit mad and are reading a lot more is brilliant.
My excuse for reading a lot just now is that I am supposed to be cleaning my house and I will much rather be reading.
Lol Jane! Reading is always a much better use of time than cleaning I use that form of procrastination quite often :p

Girls I've tried, but I'm not liking Steam City Pirates, so I decided to stop reading it for now. So we can't count it for this week. Sorry :(I started Black Trillium but since it's a quite large book I don't know if I'll be able to finish it before this week deadline, I'll try and until Friday I'll have a better estimative.

I didn't connect with the characters very much. I felt like they were all spoiled rich kids who are extremely unprepared for the real world. That might just be me looking at it from an adult perspective, I may just be too old for this one. I enjoyed the story though. I just expected more from my first John Green book after all the hype.
Not sure what my next read is going to be yet.
