(44)4: Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

Ohhh...Anne of Green Gables has been on my TBR list FOREVER! I read the Peculiar Children books this past year after it was recommended by a friend. I enjoyed them! I have not read The Giver since...seventh grade? Lol. It has been on my reread list for eons as well. Looking forward to it!

123- The Other Boleyn Girl

I also still havent read Anna but I read the Giver and it was so good! Peculiar children sadly I didnt like much
Ohhhhh!! I love Philippa Gregory!! I have been itching to pick up another one of her books. Haven't heard of the Gilded Cages book, but that looks interesting!!
Good stuff, good stuff!
Picked up The Wright Brothers from the library today. Can't wait to start making progress on these numbers! :D

Nicee!
You could do a swappie-swap for the Philippa book! Instead of reading this one, read another one of hers from a series you already started. I think that is totally valid! :D

LOL girl I started it after my exam lmaooo I promise I didnt read it before
It was sweet though and very ridiculous but enjoyable

Good choice!
Haha! Some people drink to celebrate the completion of an exam. MissB reads. I like your style, MissB! :D :D
@Bridgett I love when you are able to cross off multiple things with 1 book. :D There is no due date for when each set of numbers needs to be called, so I think that is a great idea!

123: Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
444: The Wright Brothers by David McCullough
I read The Giver many, many years ago. I loved it back then and I loved it this time around as well. Very well done. I have never read the rest of The Giver Quartet, though. Am looking forward to reading the next one!

Me neither! I only read the first book which is a shame because I really liked the first one

It was ok, I liked it enough to continue reading the series. Just wasn't a OMG book. But I did enjoy it.

You are killing it, Wendy! It feels awesome crossing off these books! :D
@Brdigett I hope it picks up soon!!
@Brdigett I hope it picks up soon!!
You know what, that is totally fine!! Still means you can cross it off of your TBR list, which is the point! :) And now I know to not pick it up lol

The fact that you tried is all that matters, now you know that you don't want to read it and you can cross off a whole series! bonus!
Hahaha! I like your thinking, MissB!
Has anyone read any books by David McCullough? I am making good progress on The Wright Brothers from this list challenge and I am totally digging his writing. It is a very well written piece of historical literature. So far, I totally recommend it! Will give more details (and a finalized opinion) when I finish it though ;)

:)
I havent but I will check them out now :)

It was about Henry VIII's older sister and she talks about her brother as well as her competition with Katherine of Aragon (she is the sister, along with her little sister Mary who was said to be a beauty)
I am now excited to the next book in this series that is based on Mary Boleyn :)

@Missberry YES! I love that series. I am glad you enjoyed it!
@Allie So far, so good. I love his writing style. Definitely a historical book. Not filled with a lot of fluff, but I really enjoy that about it.

Anyone else have a ridiculously large "To Be Read" (TBR) List? I am embarrassed to admit that I created a secondary GR account simply to track my TBR list. YIKES. Let's make these lists smaller!
Challenge Dates: Kick-off is now with no defined end date
Challenge Goal: Read books that have been sitting on your TBR list for wayyyyyy too long!
Challenge Details:
- Sort your GR "Want to Read" shelf by # (or date added)
- Once a month, I will call out 3 random numbers:
1 number between 1 and 50
1 number between 51 and 250
1 number between 251 and 500
- Once these numbers are called, take a look at your "Want to Read" shelf. Find the book that corresponds to the numbers called and post them to this board.
- After you finish one of these books, comment on the board for points!
Potential FAQs:
1. Do I need to finish all three books in a single month? Nope! There is no determined deadline for these books. So if you submit January's books in June, you still get points.
2. What happens if I don't have lists large enough for the numbers called?
Lucky you! Feel free to hack off the last digit of a number to make it fit your list. For example, if I call out 438, but your list is not that large, remove the 8 from the end and add book # 43 to your list to read. Keep hacking away until you get a number that fits your list. :)
3. Do books tied to other group activities count towards this challenge?
You bet! If they crossover, go for it!
Challenge Points:
Finish a book: 10 POINTS
Submit a little blurb about whether or not you recommend the book: 5 POINTS
Complete all 3 numbers in one grouping: 25 POINTS
Comment on this thread to earn points! HAPPY READING!
