This is a faith based story that is book 4 in the Daughters of the Mayflower series. We are continuing through history with this next installment. I have really enjoyed this look at history where Ben Franklin and George Washington are personal friends of our leading couple. What an adventure as they work toward finding their country's independence.
No offense to our friends across the pond. We love you guys.

I have only read a few in this series and it was years ago so I can't say much. I'll need to read them again as I wasn't reviewing then.
I LOVE D.L. Carter. Anyone who hasn't already read Ridiculous should take this opportunity to grab and read it. FYI, this author also has two excellent JAFF books: Ruined Forever and Gentlewoman Urgently Seeks Husband.
$1.99 special: Susan Elizabeth Phillips: Book 1 in her Chicago Stars Football Team. This was a hoot. I read the series years ago when I wasn't writing reviews and loved it. Rating: Mature Audience: This first one is action packed as we establish our characters [many to follow up in their own stories] and solve a plot against our heroine. It Had to Be You

Deal $0.99: Book 3: The Bride's Secret
Limited time on that deal: The GR cover is not the one shown on Amazon. Apparently it has changed. I was going by the publication date. You might want to research that more closely before purchase.
The Bride Wore Blue was a good book - until I was shocked by one scene in particular. It's one of those books that prompted me to start reading reviews. I still have that scene imprinted in my mind, probably ten years later! (To me), is a shame hey books are MA because I really enjoyed the story otherwise.
Thanks for commenting. In respect for your feelings and values... I always try to put a rating on my reviews. Sometimes I forget but when I see your comments or sometimes you will ask me, I'll go back and add it. You are appreciated Marlene and I respect you.

I figured I'd promote the book - but with that caveat. :-)
I always advised my SS class that if someone said I have a funny joke I want to tell you... always ask "Is it nice?" or "Is it clean," Same thing with pictures on a cell phones... if they say, I have a picture to show you. Always ask... "is it clean." I tell them that you can NEVER erase what you hear or see. Don't put yourself in that position. I learned this the hard way. Back at school, one of my senior high school girls [age 18] fell for the "send me your picture and I'll send you mine." I realized that I was too old for this.

Hey, Marlene! What Jeanne said! You ARE appreciated and I respect your views.

I'll have to remember that simple description. Ugh to the selfies! Ugh! I haven't worked in the school system for 15 years and haven't come across anything like this.
Free offer: on 17 Dark Faerie Tales anthology: It looks a bit scary so buyer beware. Once Upon A Curse: 17 Dark Faerie Tales
There are 185 reviews: 51% 5-stars & 24% 4-stars... but then if all the people reading it love scary twisted stories... then the ratings would be high. Ratings are subjective so... just saying.
I just downloaded this today. I got a notice because Alethea Kontis is one of the authors, and I follow her. I love her fairy tale retellings.

I have only reviewed two of her books on GoodReads... they were from her Castles Ever After Series... adorable. Her Spindle Cove Series was really cute. It is a place where all those wallflowers, bluestockings, and un-marriageable girls are sent. I would need to read them again in order to review them. They were cute.

I gave it five stars. Enjoyed it very much!
$0.79 ????? Yep, I clicked on this and it was $0.79The Captured Bride
This is book 3 in the 'Daughters of the Mayflower' series. Each book is written by a different author and is represented in different eras. I have read 3 of the 4 books so far and have enjoyed them. I am about to start another ARC shortly.
Note: this is Christian Historical Fiction.
I was first pointed in the direction of this piece of unpublished N&S fiction several years by our dear friend Sheila. Until today, I'd never managed to get around to reading it. Sheila, thank you, thank you, thank you! Just the change of pace I needed after the wild and wonderful ride that is Cat Gardiner's In Good Conscience. Pack Clouds Away: A North and South Continuation by Lucy Stone is a sweet, gentle but oh-so-romantic sequel to North and South. It can be found on the C19 boards, for which you have to register, but it's free to do so.
For those of you that have read both, you'll know that there IS a connection. If you're intrigued, then you'll simply have to read both!

All the dogs on the covers are rescues, the male models are volunteers and donated their time. A portion of the proceeds from the books go toward a rescue in the author's home state of Florida.
