Hi Arenda, sorry I should have been clearer in my request. The author originally created the three instalments and then merged it into one story and published that as a full novel instead of three novellas. Therefore, now she wants the three individual editions deleted:
Part 1: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Part 2: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
and Part 3: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Please deleted these three novellas. She doesn't want them available as you cannot purchase those on any platform any longer.
The CORRECT one is this one published on the 22nd of December as a full novel of 299 pages: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience
- Nadia

GR does not delete books that are no longer available.
Please see https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/2... and https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

They were imported from Amazon, as valid Kindle editions

invalid ISBN - probably typo hitting 5 instead of 8
separated it with matching correct isbn

Incomplete online serials should not be added to Goodreads as books. Deletion pending.

both can get valid ASIN (which they have now, being librarian means to complete the database if possible not just to eliminate records)
I recombined. (and having a single edition and all others is not helpful for a merge either)
Adding valid data (in this case missing ASIN) is way less work than merging so that's always prefered

It looks like it was originally planned to be published in 2017 but is being released 2018:

to be combined back to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

seem the same edition to me, in various reprints through the years. I would keep only the first, but at least no. 4 should be deleted IMO (the cover has "something" on the bottom right but it looks like a sticker or a library stamp).

I object to these changes. This thread is for actions by super-librarians.
1. If you look at the librarian log, you'll see that I did fill in the missing data for the version with the most user ratings.
2. Unlike ISBNs that are generally associated with publishers, ASINs only indicate where an edition can be purchased, not a distinct edition. It is retailer-specific information which, in this case, happens also to be the owner of GR. I believe this is contrary to policy, but I leave that for the moderator to determine.
3. It is a matter of opinion whether inventing arbitrary ASINs for duplicate entries improves or degrades the database.
4. Neither of these originally had ASINs. Otherwise, I would not have made this request.
I respectfully request that these changes be reversed and #430 be reconsidered.

It is the same answer as I gave previously in this thread: #396/397 not merged, updated with cover and asin from Audible (which is less work than merging a duplicate), and recombined., https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
And more important than debating about ASIN's,
Lachgas wrote: "(and having a single edition and all others is not helpful for a merge either)", which is the same response as was made earlier to one of your requests: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Adding correct data, such as the appropriate ASIN, to valid editions is definitely not contrary to policy.
Adding correct data, such as the appropriate ASIN, to valid editions is definitely not contrary to policy.

And adding a valid identifier is not against policy (in this case audible.com, nothing I had to search for long).
There is no reason for me not doing that - this thread clearly states "leaving deletions for super librarians" - there was no deletion necessary (as well as in your previous posting where Arenda did exactly the same as I) and there is no need to put more work on the few supers shoulders (they are also volunteers).
Yes, that happened to me before that a super told me "no deletion just adding identifier" and I felt sorry for creating them that work because I didn't think of that possibility - which is why I do check that now first.
(and that's enough OT and thread cluttering from me so I won't reply on that further - no need to make it harder for Arenda in such a big thread)

I think the message 417 was inadvertently skipped.
If it has any problem with this work, and can't be merged, could you explain to me what's wrong?
Thanks a lot and happy new year for all members.

This book should be deleted, since it's only the Norwegian translated edition of this book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
and, I've taken the liberty to add the translation as a new edition under that book:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Here's an acceptable source that provides you with the page numbers for the Norwegian edition:
http://akershus.samsok.no/cgi-bin/sam...

https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

But the point is can you make this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
into a new edition of this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Since these are the same books, just different editions?

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
into a new edition of this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Since these are the same books, just different editions?"
First the superfluous edition that you created needs to be merged into the existing edition with the ISBNs. Ellie has prepared this. Only then can the existing edition be combined with the others.
In the future, you can simply ask for the book to be combined instead of adding a duplicate edition.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

to be combined back to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

to be combined back to https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Could a superlibrarian delete this edition:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/edit/3...
(it contains a fake ISBN10: truncated ISBN13)
The other edition is good.
Thanks!
