There were parts in this chapter that, for me, were very obvious reminders that this is a book aimed at younger readers. For example, the ghosts leave Laylee's caste and decide to cause destruction because they think they were abandoned. But then in this chapter, they realize this is wrong and decide to at least try and find out why Laylee just left them. So the message for children is try and talk things through before jumping to conclusions with all guns blazing.
