An “Informal Buddy Read” doesn’t have a discussion leader and participants are asked to consider some generic questions when making comments about the book. An example is here.
I'm sorry I'm late. This is the first time I've joined a group here so wasn't familiar with the notification system. Have you guys started?
I haven't. I will today. I don't think Brooke has either or she would have posted.We read and come back here and talk about it. We use spoiler tags so we don't give anything away.

Read as much as you like! We will catch up. I did start it but I didn't get far. I'll do my best to read more tonight( lol maybe I can sneak some in tomorrow )

Laura, it has been rough. I am getting better, though! I am still only eating liquids & mashed potatoes, but I think I might be able to eat more by Monday. I have been sleeping a ton - I thought I would be awake more.

I haven’t made it very far either. But my mother left this morning (it was hard to read while she was here because I was either napping or she was talking) and I go back to work tomorrow, so I should do better this week. Being back on a regular schedule should help.

I finally am getting back to this one. I kept getting distracted by other books to complete 2017 challenges and library books that needed to be read.Parts I and II (chapters 1-12
I am always amazed at what people had to go through during WWII. I've read numerous WWII historical fiction novels, but this one is from the Italian perspective, which is new to me. I'm enjoying reading about how people felt about the Nazis and what they did just to survive. It is hard to imagine going through all of that as a teenager like Pino and Mimo; they had to grow up too fast!

Synopsis:
