Which new releases are you most looking forward to?
I'm waiting on David Weber's Through Fiery Trials. As part of the main story of Safehold wrapped up in book 9, I will be interested to see where this one goes.
John scalzi’s new book “The consuming fire” the sequel to Collapsing empire! It comes out next month!
Ryan wrote: "John scalzi’s new book “The consuming fire” the sequel to Collapsing empire! It comes out next month!"Yes! The real question is whether or not to reread the first one first. The details are a little fuzzy...
I'm super eager to read Marlon James's first fantasy novel, Black Leopard, Red Wolf. His The Book of Night Women was one of the most striking novels I read last year, and just the description for this novel, the first in a planned trilogy, sounds remarkable.
Really looking forward to several books coming out next yearChildren of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky, the followup to Children of Time
Bobiverse sequel (The Search for Bender tentatively) announced recently with release next summer.
theres gonna be a follow up to Children of Time??? Oooohhhh *adds to wishlist*I usually only buy used but I might make an exception for The Monster Baru Cormorant (Sequel to the Traitor Baru Cormorant)
Gotta know how the story continues for Baru, my favorite vengeful lesbian financial officer (yes that combination works)

That thing has been pre-ordered for months. 😎😎😎
Ine wrote: "Gotta know how the story continues for Baru, my favorite vengeful lesbian financial officer "So there’s a sentence that’s never been said before.
I am really looking forward to both How Long 'til Black Future Month?: Stories and Black Leopard, Red Wolf. And I just found out there is apparently going to be a sequel to The Goblin Emperor - no title yet, though.

Hahaha, yes, me too! I love Baru and that is a perfect description of her character.
Nnendi Okorafor is going to be writing a Shuri Black Panther comic and the first issue will be out in two weeks! I am ridiculously excited about this and just added it to my pull box yesterday.
(Im on mobile and idk how to link) Im looking forward to "In the Vanishers Palace" by Aliette de Bodard. I havent read anything by this author yet actually but the premise "Beauty and the Beast retelling in a postapocalyptic Asia-inspired fantasy world and the beast as a DRAGON" lured me in
also even if thats not your cuppa, please take a moment to look it up and admire that gorgeous cover illustration!

We have a cover and pub date for Hexarchate Stories! Maybe we've had them for a while, I haven't been checking. But I have to wait until June 2019? :(

Oh wow didn't know this was coming out - loved Children of Time
Looking over the 2019 releases, I see some books I am now anticipating.Jade War, the sequel to Jade City, which I loved.
The Last Astronaut, a First Contact novel from David Wellington, whose writing I’ve enjoyed but who has written almost exclusively in Horror.
Empress of Forever by Max Gladstone, which is being billed as a “feminist Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Pendergast series #18 by Preston& Child. These thrillers usually have elements of horror and/or sci-fi. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

I've liked all the books she's written so far
The UnArcana series by Glynn Stewart, and the next lightbringer book by Brent Weeks. Those will be epic, I hope...
I was looking forward to reading Thin Air all summer long (because I won an ARC through Goodreads), and I loved it, highly recommended! It was released in October 23rd.Now I am reserving a copy of Red Moon by Kim Stanley Robinson also released o.n October 23rd. It seems like something of a departure for Robinson, a bit different for him maybe, IDK. Really looking forward to it though.
Next February's going to be a good month. Along with Ann Leckie's new book, T. Frohock's historical dark fantasy Where Oblivion Lives is coming out, too.Ooh, Jade War has a cover.
And it's coming out close-ish to my birthday!
I'm excited to read King of Scars as I loved the Grisha trilogy, and Leigh Bardugo can do pretty much no wrong in my eyes. What are the other biggies I should be keeping an eye out for?
A People's Future of the United States: Speculative Fiction from 25 Extraordinary Writers! Just look at the author list!!
I don't know if this can be called a release, since it seems like there won't be a book? But it looks very cool in any case:Better Worlds: 10 original fiction stories, five animated adaptations, and five audio adaptations by a diverse roster of science fiction authors who take a more optimistic view of what lies ahead in ways both large and small, fantastical and everyday.
John Conroe has been doing a countdown of when his latest book will be finished . I am so excited I am re reading the first 12. Just loved that series.
I'm really looking forward to the next installment in The Expanse series,
. I've really been enjoying this science fiction epic.

Yes, please!
Angry Robot has a free sampler with the first three chapters from six of their 2019 releases (https://www.angryrobotbooks.com/shop/...), which I picked up because I was already excited about The Outside, but now I have more books to look forward to: The Fall of Io
The Ingenious
The Bayern Agenda: Book One of the Galactic Cold War
The Light Brigade
Shadowblade
Also, N.K. Jemisin's next book got a name at some point: The City We Became! (Here's what it's about: https://www.tor.com/2017/08/18/nk-jem...)
Cast in Oblivion - Latest addition to Chronicles of Elantra comes out 1/29/2019. =DRecursion - New book by Black Crouch will be published June 11th, 2019. For those doing challenges, this book will be made into a TV Show & Movie.
