It is a re-telling (and re-gendered telling) of The Water Margin, which is a very famous work in Chinese literature. (Translations are available.) I'm not aware that it was ever a TV series, but my TV background (especially in the 80's) is very poor.

It was shown in a dubbed version in the UK and may have never made it to the USA. It would be great is some streaming company bought this up.

Service Model by Adrian TchaikovskyTo fix the world they must first break it, further.
Humanity is a dying breed, utterly reliant on artificial labor and service.
When a domesticated robot gets a nasty little idea downloaded into its core programming, they murder their owner. The robot discovers they can also do something else they never did before: they can run away.
Fleeing the household they enter a wider world they never knew existed, where the age-old hierarchy of humans at the top is disintegrating into ruins and an entire robot ecosystem devoted to human wellbeing is having to find a new purpose.
Sometimes all it takes is a nudge to overcome the limits of your programming.
**** sounds like a mix between murderbot and Children of Time****

This sounds great, and this part of the publisher description makes me even more excited: "...Murderbot meets Redshirts in a delightfully humorous tale of robotic murder....".
My first try with Tchaikovsky was One Day All This Will Be Yours - I thought I'd start with something short, and unfortunately the humor wore thin - should have been a long short story, IMHO. But I've loved all his other books that I've read .... I'm hoping I don't have a humor problem with him....
I think I'm plenty excited for Song of the Six Realms. I haven't finished reading other books by this author, but she writes amazing and her stories are so vivid and magical.I'm also looking forward to The Tainted Cup. I haven't read any books by this author, so I'll be going in completely blind. But the premise sounds super interesting.
Still hoping for Alecto the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, which will finish the Locked Tomb series. The Goodreads page shows that it is expected January 2024 now, but the cover art is still not out. Not a good sign.
Eagerly waiting for Stormlight Archive 5. Also, Murtagh and Defiant, which are releasing this month.
I finished The Republic of Thieves this year, not knowing if there were due to be other books in the series. It was pretty clear from the ending that there will be and I am now crazily excited for The Thorn of Emberlain. Also The Doors of Stone but... y'know...

You're right, haven't seen a thing yet. :(
I'm looking forward to the new Murderbot coming out on the 15th: System Collapse.
Iron Wing, Bookshelves and Bonedust, Cinder Spires book 2 Warrior Born. Those are my main one that I am truly excited about.
11/14 for the release of the next Patrick Rothfuss book: The Narrow Road Between Desires. I'm really looking forward to it
Beth, I'm also looking forward to System Collapse, which comes out the same day as C.S. Pacat's Dark Heir. Also looking forward to Freya Marske's A Power Unbound coming out in just a couple days. This is going to be a full November!
I’m halfway through These Burning Stars and loving it so much I’m already looking forward to the second in the series. The back of the book has a preview. The title is On Viscious Worlds and is expected in November 2024.
I CAN'T WAIT for TJ Klune's sequal Beyond the Sea. I have read the first chapter through my work and getting an early look, and I am already hooked.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the "Ghost Armor" Series as well as for the next one in the "Shield War" series. Both of these series are by Jonathan Moeller.
I'm hoping to read The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland soon. I have it on hold on Libby. I've been pretty disappointed in 2023 and 2024 releases, so there's gotta be a good one eventually, right?!
Currently some of my most anticipated releases are: - Somewhere Beyond the Sea by T.J. Klune
- The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst
- A Witch's Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
- Summers End by Juneau Black
DivaDiane wrote: "I definitely want to read the Sangu Mandanna!"Both are definitely release day purchases for me
DivaDiane wrote: "And the sequel to A House in the Cerulean Sea too!"YES! Can't wait for Beyond the Sea!
Charlotte McConaghy’s next book was recently announced. Wild Dark Shore I don’t know why they are making us wait til 2025. I feel like I’ve already been waiting so long. 😩
I’m looking forward to reading Wind and Truth (Book #5 of The Stormlight Archive) by Brandon Sanderson. The novel will be released on December 6, 2024. You can read the first part of the book as they release chapters every Monday starting yesterday, 07-29-24 on Reactormag.com at the following link up to the release date. https://reactormag.com/columns/wind-a...

Attention Martha Wells fans! Queen Demon, the follow-up to Witch King, by Martha Wells is now available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It's planned release date is July 8, 2025.
I love Witch King--it, along with the Murderbot Diaries, have been my go-to comfort reads while I go through cancer treatment--so I am super excited for the second book in the series.

Thank you!

I just finished Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, and now am very much looking forward to its sequel, Heavenly Tyrant, due out this December.
CJ wrote: "I just finished Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, and now am very much looking forward to its sequel, Heavenly Tyrant, due out this December."I read the description of the first book. It looks like the Tang Dynasty is at war with aliens. Pretty funny idea, but I'm not sure how it's realised in the book. I mean the writing style and things like that.
Sacrificial Animals by Kailee Pederson technically came out last month. It’s jaw dropping good so far. Beautiful word play and allusions. Wasn’t expecting this.
I just learned that there'll be a 3rd book to Moses Ose Utomi's Forever Desert series, The Memory of the Ogisi, due out July 2025. I read the other 2 earlier this year, haven't stopped thinking about them since (I think I gave both 4 stars but want to reread them to see it I want to change that to 5).
Nghi Vo just released this: The City in Glass - auto wishlist. Also in my radar: Jamaica Ginger and Other Concoctions by Nalo Hopkinson
