Bhushan | 4 comments I had come across this book which had a character in it, who had the ability described above : his death was fixed to happen at a certain point in time, and so any attempts to kill him before that would result in reality changing so he does not die from that attempt.

That's unfortunately all i remember about the book.

When did you read it or see it or hear about it? Author female or male? Remember the cover?

Bhushan | 4 comments Unfortunately I don't remember any of those things :(

Andy | 2124 comments This is a fairly common idea - in one of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy books for example, the hero knows he won't die until after he visits a particular place, so no matter how close he seems to death before he's visited that location, he knows he won't die.

Bhushan | 4 comments This was more direct however; for example if you shot a bullet at him it would not hit him at all, or reality would twist it away (something like that; my recollections are very vague)

Andy | 2124 comments Ok. I'll think about this. Something is reminding me of Haldeman's Hemingway Hoax The Hemingway Hoax though that's probably not what you're looking for

Probably isn't it, but sounds similar.

Main character is a girl who can see the date when people will die when she looks in their eyes. She starts a relationship with a guy who she sees in his eyes will die in a couple months. They escape a couple near-death situations which she isn't worried abt because she knows he won't die yet.

Bhushan | 4 comments It isn't "the Hemingway hoax" or "numbers", though I thank you for the interesting recommendations.
