Nominations open -- December 2017 group reads: Authors with last names beginning with "M"

My error, Bonnie -- it should be "last names beginning with M."
Nominate another book, please. I wouldn't have let it in the mix anyway, since it's not at all a crime novel.

My pleasure, absolutely. I hope Millar gets lots of votes.

I'll catch up with this and all other threads tomorrow - we had a medical emergency in our house Monday & Tuesday so I'm having a personal detox day today to help ease the stress. Everything's fine but I'll send out member emails, start posting everyone's nominations etc. tomorrow. I just need the day. Thanks.

If it's an author we haven't read, or a series we haven't read, the first book is usually best. I just read a book that was number 7 (I didn't know) , and all was well until I reached the end, and realized that stuff the main character had done in the previous books was possibly a factor in how the author ended this one. So to me, at least, it makes a difference. You can always check the group book shelf if you're not sure.

Since it wasn't that long ago for Liane Moriarty, let's pass on this one, Natalie. Fee free to pick another one though!!

Well, I'd love to help you out here, Gabriel, but it's all about authors whose last names end in "M."

I read that earlier this year, really enjoyed it but I have the Ngaio Marsh on my to read list so I will be voting for that one :-)

Like Liane Moriarty, we've read a Val McDermid novel this year. Can you find another book to nominate?? Thanks!

You know the drill --
1. do NOT nominate your own book
2. do NOT have your publicist nominate your book
3. if you nominate the winning book, you are the moderator for the discussion. If you don't want to lead the discussion, don't nominate a book.
that's it -- now, pick good ones!!
