Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments 50. COMPLETE
ふぁみりーしゅみれーしょん!! Family Simulation!! by Aco Matsuyoshi
Definitely works! :D

Finished on Jan. 9th, 2018.
Comment: It was fluffy just like one would imagine. I am slightly surprised by the second story(a yaoi of course!) in the fact that the artist worked hard to make thesis work actually as troubling as it is. It's those small details that make the difference.
5 STARS

Forgot to mark it.
ファイアパンチ 8 published in 2018. 3 STARS.
------------------------------------------------------------
Need to find a manga that was just sent off to publisher's.
Lots of web comic series that I've been getting the update on:
Cherry Blossoms After Winter second season (yahoo!)
BJ Alex
etc. (not on GoodReads)
-----------------------------------------------
Any new One Piece books and updates on Killing Stalking.
Or
Everything Here Is Beautiful by Mira T. Lee -this was recommended by GoodReads, so paid advertising?

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments I'm already cursing and I don't even have to start yet. 2 months to go. Yahoo! (- ah - ) *that's suppose to be a face -sorry.

message 55: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments Are you planning to do the list with only manga and graphic novels? I'm always interested in new series, so I'll be interested if you give small reviews about your reads :)

I think the webcomics aren't usually on GR (against the rules?), except if there's a paper/ebook publication.

message 56: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Gaahaa! I got shocked seeing my own posts. Yeah, I’ll write reviews if you want. However I like yaoi and other embarrassing but romantic manga genres ... so it might be tough for some people to read my reviews. (^<>^)

message 57: by Celeste (last edited Jan 01, 2018 08:49PM) (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments January 1st, 2018- The first four days I will be trying to read exponentially. However after that I will be busy with classes until June. Good luck to me as I may not even be on Goodreads until June 1st, 2018.

1. - Read 32 pages of Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead. On Page 44.
2. - Read 色恋コメディ Irokoi Comedy in full.
3. - Read up to page 44 of The Science of Making Friends: Helping Socially Challenged Teens and Young Adults
4. - Reading up to page 25 of ぐうたら恋愛の製法 Guutara Renai no Seihou

message 58: by Celeste (last edited Jan 01, 2018 08:18PM) (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Disclaimer - PLEASE do not read if you dislike graphic-novels/comics/manga OR Male-Homosexual/gay relationships as this is Yaoi, a genre of manga(japanese comic) that highlights gay relationships and may show GRAPHIC images. This is different from Shounen Ai, which does NOT show such images.

色恋コメディ Irokoi Comedy Review:
A bunch of little stories. The couples were okay~cute and I especially liked the stories at the end. The drawings were at first a little cringy, but it turns out that these were published oneshots, from the beginning of their career, compiled by the artist and their publisher. 3 STARS.

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments A Drifting Life and A Zoo in Winter are two books that I want to read and will add to my list. They discuss the beginnings of future manga artists and how they came to work in this craft. Semi-biographical. Seems interesting and totally ambitious on my part (to read).

message 62: by Celeste (last edited Jan 08, 2018 10:11AM) (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Reading (01/08/2018):
The Fall of the House of Usher
A Good Man Is Hard To Find *Finished
Review: Hauntingly good story about sentiments from the past and ... kinda wished I could discuss with my AP Literature class because they would find so many different angles to speak from.

message 63: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments And starting to read Royal Servant, turns out that although MasterGin writes the words for this work it is under the artist's name: Chungnyun.

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments 1/16/2018:
I read, what would have been book 1 of Royal Servant by MasterGin and Chungnyan.
Also books for school also might fit in these categories. If they do I'll slide them in.
----------------------------
Started reading "Skin". Nice kind of drawings. Reminds me american comics. Similar artistic pattern to Baby Mouse (kids' comic).

message 79: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Other than She Persisted ...
I've just read a lot of manga and chapters(of books that are not finished) that I can't seem to fit in my 52 categories.

- An extraordinary book at times that critiques the represented American government at its worst. A true understanding of the "stupid American" that the world talks about.

message 84: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Read メリーチェッカ Merry Checker for "blog". Not sure what the name means.

message 85: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Reading 僕の知るあなたの話 Boku no Shiru Anata no Hanashi and it already contained one suicide-murder of the main character's mother by her boyfriend. I wonder why the other main character didn't tell him yet because I know he loves his mother, even with evidence of abuse by her.

message 86: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Currently reading ヤリすぎパーリィナイ! Yarisugi Party Night! which will with the topic of an author I haven't read before with a book released in 2016, 2017 or 2018. This was published in 2017.

Also finished the Celtic tale "The Four White Swans" otherwise called "The Children of Lir" which is part of Celtic Tales Told to the Children. (view spoiler)

message 87: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Added Cherry Blossoms After Winter by Bamwoo. A real winner that definitely needs to be continued. The artist is working on his/her other piece right now that recently won first prize on one of the top webcomic sites. :) Oh well, they'll be busy so ... :D

message 88: by Celeste (last edited Apr 14, 2018 08:30PM) (new)

A Love for Sweet Things

message 90: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments Currently reading How Sweet is a Sugar Daddy? by Ji Hye-Kyung, a web comic.

message 91: by Celeste (new)

Celeste (celesteryr) | 488 comments But what I am most excited about is The Book of Human Insects by Osamu Tezuka, said to be the grandfather of anime. I'm just a few pages in and already I can see how unique his work is. While the paneling is set up like manga you see today, his art is a combination of old-style manga brush strokes, caricature, and Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts combined! Already it is amazing.
I am going to put this under category 15: unique format or writing structure. I was going to wait and put some poetry beneath 15 as manga, manhwa, webcomics, comic strips, and graphic novels are actually the norm for me. But to put a work of Tezuka's on my 52 and have that category still open would be a no-no. His impact on manga is immense.
Having fun! CELESTE.

Now I shall post my readathon:
Essex County 5 stars- for the sentimental graphic novel reader.
Etc. On the rest as I can’t remember right now.
