Am sure you will find some reduced eggs Patti, although Morrisons had none on Fri! That is bonkers MT! Stay in bed Lynne

We have the snow happening here.
Good job it didn't arrive yesterday as we were over at the coast visiting my brother and his family. We also had a chocolate torte, no caramel but chestnuts included in the recipe. Two more slices brought home.
We took mum to the Easter Mass over in St Annes, and to my surprise we were sat in front of someone that I knew from infant school. Surprisingly we recognised each other and spent some time chatting and remembering the time when I was May Queen and she was one of my attendants.
In the afternoon it was a little chilly but we had a walk around Fairhaven lake and then watched Paddington.
I also finished the last few chapters of the book I bought last week so another tick on my challenge. I can't decide what to read next.

I love it, were I not a gentleman I'd suggest you posted photos :-)

Thanks Rosemary.
If it happens again, she'll need to be tossed from the group."
we really want some sort of human cannonball set up so they can be ejected really spectacularly :-)

we could see tickets for the cannon

You sound busy busy busy! I'm impressed, can I borrow a bit of that motivation please?

That is crazy Alicia

Diet? Do you HAVE to? I'd wait until your foot is better - you don't need two miseries at once.

Well, maybe a bit less weight will help my foot!

brilliant!
Love it

Yes, in principle. But in practice it will make little difference for a long time. Percentagewise. And your foot being well would make it so much easier for you to move more, go for a walk, do more stairs - all the things that make weight-loss better.
Not saying don't - that's for you to choose, and sometimes the psychological effect of diets is profound. Just get that foot in better shape. I know. I can't walk or stand for more than a very short time. I would give anything to go for a decent walk.
When it's warmer, I can ride my bike for a bit - and I feel like a released caged animal. I just have to worry about vertical instability. It's always something.

I'm just cutting back on carbs - tonights tea is pasta and garlic bread! I'm sorry you can't go for a decent walk

Dave was quite happy with that. He read what he said was the best book he's enjoyed in ages.
The Giver
I'll have to check it out at some point.

Doesn't sound fun Patti

Stopped raining finally, after the wash-out that was bank holiday Monday.

My poor toe is really mangled. I think the nail is coming off, if anyone treads on it - they are dead!

My poor toe ..."
Ouch!!

Made it here finally. Out for dinner later.
Really looking forward to all this being over.

Hope your toe improves, Lynne!

Funeral day."

I hope it's a good funeral, because some really are

Another phone call last night changed today's plans. Will elaborate when I'm on the big keyboard.

Ooh, very intrigued

Engineer is due here today, BT suspect it is problems with the master socket

A few weeks back I came across the term Trauma Teddies. People make and donated knitted teddy bears to either the police force or fire service, to be carried when responding to call-outs involving children. When a child's involved in a traumatic event, they are given a teddy. In policing, it stops the child believing the officer is a remote figure from whom you 'get into trouble'. In the fire service, the child may well have lost personal possessions in a house fire or have been involved in a road accident.
I loved the idea and found a (pretty inept) pattern on the internet, which I tried out, then adapted. They are around 10" high and really fun to make. I took three teds and four copies of my pattern to our flower arranging group and they hoovered up the patterns.
One of the ladies is married to a retired fire fighter and offered to contact the local force with an offer to supply them with trauma teds. She heard back over the weekend and we were trying to set up a meeting for today but it's fallen through as the man (Liz and he are now on first name terms!) has to be at the other side of the city. So, it's still on and to be rearranged.
He's come across this scheme in the force he used to work with and is keen to set up a trial, suggesting maybe the callouts to road accidents initially. We need to ascertain how many they think they'll need - I have a dozen ready - and then circulate the village - via the bi-monthly magazine in which we can put a picture and the pattern.

SNOW overnight and still sleeting.
If I could knit I would help, Kath. I discovered years ago that although I can manage plain and pearl, casting on and off is above my level of competence.
Sorry to read about your toe, Lynne and hope the day goes as well as possible, Patti.
