Oh good grief. Another manager walking in, thinking he knows better. ;)
I'm sure you'll listen to everyone before trying to change the world.

New blog?

I will indeed. the first few weeks/months will be listening and learning before trying to change anything.

You should definitely get one.
Unexpected house showing appointment (someone who came to the Open House!), so we went off to the local ice cream parlor so as not to be in their way. After working very hard for several hours to leave it 'staged' again.
It is so HOT here it was most well received. I got chocolate chip cookie dough. Do you have that?

Hope it helps when you get the shot. They do know what you have is a recurring problem, right?

You know how to show a chap a good time :-)

Dave's got a perfect ammonite. Did I spell that correctly?"
Perfectly. 👌

Chuffed with my spelling. :)
Glad I bought a desk fan for the bedroom here last summer. Was needed last night.
We're gonna get the train into Cardiff today. Dave wants new shoes again. I need new walking sandals. I hate shopping.
Got news about Dave's father last night. He has bowel cancer. Not uncommon in a 90-something year old, apparently.
He has no pain and is in surprisingly good spirits. As much as one can be. He's waiting on an appointment to discuss treatment options, one of which could be surgery to remove the affected bowel, if it's not too big an area. I'm not convinced he'd recover from a major surgery.
His decision, of course. Thankfully, his mental state is such that he can make informed decisions.

Probably was the worn out shoes which caused it.
We had a good Google on the nhs website and he fits the symptoms perfectly. Not gonna bother clogging up the health care system with seeing a doctor. He's got otc shoe inserts, which the website says work just as well as prescribed ones. He's also doing the recommended stretching exercises and icing regime. It's already feeling much improved and the site says it'll resolve on its own in a few weeks/months.
If it's not completely resolved by October break, we can pop to Bangkok for treatment. All of our friends constantly tell us how great the medical care in Bangkok is. Nice we'll be so close.

I think pretty much all the flavours available in North America are available here now, Alicia.
Except for orange pineapple. I'm not sure that's even available in the states. I read somewhere it's very much an Ontario flavour. It's my mom's favourite. That and maple walnut.
Mine is mint chocolate chip. So refreshing on a hot day.
Back when Dave discovered he has a dairy allergy, only chocolate, strawberry and vanilla were available here.
He often talks about when 31 Flavours came to Saudi and how disappointed he was that he couldn't have any. Of course, these days he can have non-dairy ice cream if he chooses to.

I don't like rice.

I am pretty much always on the edge of having it, and doing the stretches when I remember seems to work pretty well :-)

On plantar thin gummy, I wear orthotics because I get pain in the ball of my foot but they help my knees too. Alicia hope the house sells fast. I do not have CFS but I still pall at the fact that one day, we will have to sell this place.
McMini’s birthday party today. Two extra rang up last night when their darlings had only just handed them the invite. Mine is not the only one then - he’s missed at least two parties that I know of by forgetting to bring the invites home.
Not really looking forward to it. McOther is officially home this evening for one of only two evenings at home in the next seven, but his work load suggests he will be at the office instead. He’s going away for the weekend so has to pay for taking Friday off with three weeks of lead up blood. He is not happy.
Otherwise, weather is lovely and all is dandy.
Cheers

Wearing worn out shoes won't help. You got insoles, didn't you?

I don't envy you the birthday party.
That's something that worth paying 'staff' to deal with, in my opinion.

Sorry to hear about Dave's dad Patti, fingers crossed for his options.I agree with Jim, not a good place to go if you don't like rice. Hope last nights viewing was worth it Alicia. Good luck with the birthday party MT

Off to deliver teddy bears to fire officers. Yeah, I live on the edge!

yes, but had to drop them when I got new trainers

Second the gel, I've been using it for whatever it is the doctor hasn't got round to sorting

We really need to sort the kids bedtimes. They are staying up really late and then sleeping late and it is a nightmare trying to get anything done and trying to get ready in the morning.
I haven't had any caffeine yet today, not sure how I am going to cope with my meeting in 20 minutes.

Patti, I sort of am, the staff at the restaurant take care of it while I chat to my friend Jill. Phnark.
For my birthday present to myself, I have bought some very expensive headphones. My official reason is that they were reduced by just under half and they have a bluetooth thingummy so I can attach them to my phone in the car. And because they're made in Lancing, England which is one of the places I grew up in and I spent many happy days there, with lovely people, as a toddler.
They arrived yesterday. The headphones, not the people, they're dead. The people I mean, not the headphones.
I thought I'd try them out. I had forgotten how much I love music. The quality is so good I have nearly been in tears. Yes. I am a sap.
I have been dancing for an hour and a half. I have had to drag them out of my ears and hide them in a drawer because I need to do stuff!
I think we can call that a result! I hope everyone else's day is going as well!
Cheers
MTM

Teds received with enthusiasm. Two additional firemen (to the one I was supposed to meet and hand over to) clattered down the stairs (I thought they'd slide down a pole!) to thank me personally for the teddy they gave to a little girl in an incident last week. Lovely gesture.
Down to earth. A load of washing to do.

Buy it is a scorcher today.
Sorry to hear about Dave and his dad. Hopefully they can get themselves sorted.

Aww, I love your teddy bear scheme, how sweet of the others to come and thank you personally, shame they didn't use the pole though. I can't use ibuprofen gel, I take oral anti-inflammatories, not allowed to mix them apparently.

Fab, you even made me nearly choke on my lunch!

And you are going to tell us the brand? That's quite an endorsement.

New trainers are good.

I'll Dave some of that gel, thanks.

Lots of parents complain of that with the long summer days. Get black out curtains on their bedroom windows and chuck them in at 7pm. Lock them in...no, I didn't say that out loud...

Hope you checked pockets. I've got a bunch of tissue remnants to sweep up in front of the machine.

Thanks Lindsay. You're lovely.

Having said that, the train back n fore to Cardiff was decidedly unpleasant. Smelly, too.
Dave didn't buy shoes. Neither did I.
Did I mention I hate shopping?

We are just really rubbish at the bedtime routine, i.e. we don't have one. I am going to try and get one sorted over the summer though, since Kitty starts preschool in September she'll need a good nights sleep each night.

I do think the teddys is a really good idea, and it's obvious that the people at the sharp end do as well.

Others might have different experience but I put it on three times a day for about a week. It takes time to kick in.
But after the week when it had started working I cut right back to once a day, first thing in a morning when I get up, and that seems to work for me.
Its as if it's got to get through and once its finally there, you just keep it topped up
As I say, don't just listen to me, listen to how the others use it as well

Input, please others.
I'd like to get him sorted out before we leave the uk, if possible.
Mind, we walked a lot today, on pavements, and he says it's not as bad as it was.

Don't think I could talk Dave into that.
And that's why I reply to individual comments, Nosemanny.
Have lost too many long posts over the years.

I think that's a great suggestion for Dave! Car said 32 when I got in it, touching the steering wheel was interesting! Indoor thermostat says 29 upstairs.
